Rapper Iron, the hip-hop singer who shot to fame after appearing in Mnet’s survival show ‘Show Me the Money 3’, has died according to Korean media reports. The 29-year-old rapper was found unconscious in his home before he was rushed to the hospital, police report said.

How did rapper Iron die?

Iron, real name Jung Hun-cheol, was first found in his home by his security guard, local media reports have stated. He was found bleeding and to be unconscious in the Jung-go, Seoul apartment complex. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but declared dead upon arriving, reports say. No official reason for the cause of death has been revealed so far.

Iron, who released his debut solo album ‘Rock Bottom’ in September 2016, also collaborated with a number of deemed K-pop artists including Hyolyn, Jooyoung, SHINee's late Jonghyun, AOA's Jimin and Kim Bum Soo.

In 2020, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his teenage roommate. The rapper has also been charged for using marijuana in 2016 as well as reportedly charged for assaulting his ex-girlfriend. The hip-hop artist faced two-year probation and 80 hours of community service after the 2018’s assault case with a warning of two years of a jail sentence if found to be breaking probation.

After the news of the rapper passing away surfaced on social media, users have expressed their shock at the news as well as mourning the rapper’s death.

A user said, “Back in 2013 I saw him along with bobby ikon in smtm season 3 and i like some of his songs. Rest In Peace”

Another said, “Bro wtf i just finish listening a song from him like 30 min ago this is so. what's going on!’

A user noted, “R.I.P, he obviously made alot of mistakes but this is a person's life we are talking about, he has family, friends who will miss him dearly. Let's be respectful you don't need to be toxic. Thoughts and prayers go out to those effected by this news.”

A similar tweet read, “I know he wasn't the greatest person and made a lot of mistakes in his life. But this is still a fucking person's life people need to stop being so rude in these comments its not the place or time. Anyways may he rest in peace.”
