Maria Shriver reveals how marriage to Arnold Schwarzenegger sent her to a convent!
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Unless you're living under a rather large rock you'll know that Arnold Schwarzenegger is making his streaming debut on Netflix with the spy action-comedy 'FUBAR' where he plays aging spymaster Luke Brunner. Created by Nick Santora (of 'Reacher' [in]famy) the show also stars Monica Barbaro fresh from 'Top Gun: Maverick' superfame. Barbaro will play Arnie's daughter.
A lot about the show has been kept under wraps, but what has officially been released is that 'FUBAR' will map the trials and tribulations of Luke Brunner and his daughter Emma who have lied to each other for years, neither of them knowing that the other is a CIA operative. Once they both learn the truth, they realize they don't actually know anything about each other.
Recently Maria Shriver opened up about the struggles of her marriage with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The powerful couple got legally split in 2021 due to his infidelity with the family's former housekeeper Mildred Patty Baena. The Emmy-winning journalist, 67, and 'Terminator' star, 75, were an iconic couple in Hollywood for about 25 years.
Shriver is the niece of John F Kennedy Jr and was born to Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy. According to Daily Mail, Shriver claimed in the recent episode of 'Making Space with Hoda Kotb', that she sought advice at a convent to find peace. The journalist claimed that she was searching for "guidance and wanted to be in silence following the divorce."

How did Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver meet?
The duo initially met while attending the Robert F Kennedy Tennis Tournament which eventually led to dating. In August 1985, the actor proposed to Shriver and got married in April 1986. The former power couple welcomed their first child, Katherine in 1989 and then their daughter Christina in 1991. After two years, Patrick was born and Christopher, their youngest son was born in September 1997. In May 2011, they decided to live apart and work on their conflicts. "This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us," the couple said in a joint statement. "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart, while we work on the future of our relationship."
Later, Schwarzenegger told SiriusXM radio show in June 2015, “I had personal setbacks, but this was, without any doubt, the biggest setback and the biggest failure. Without any doubt. Not only failure, but you feel like, ‘I’m to blame for it. It was me that screwed up.’ And you can’t point the finger at anyone else. So yeah, I was disappointed in it. It’s always easy to be smart in hindsight. The thing was how do you make the best of that situation?" He claimed back then, “[Going to couple’s therapy] was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. That guy was so full of s—t. He said more crap and more nonsense. It was absolutely counterproductive to our future relationship. … Maria talked me into it. I went, and I felt instinctive maybe I shouldn’t go because I know I screwed up. I don’t have to go through anyone to have to explain to me anything. I apologized to Maria. I apologized to the kids," as per US Magazine. As they lived apart and continued to co-parent, he stated, “Luckily, Maria has been a terrific mother,” the 'Jingle All the Way' star previously told Extra in 2012. “We work together even though we’re going through a divorce. … We make sure that the kids grow up to be really good human beings.” The duo settled their divorce in June 2022.

The duo split in May 2011 amid reports of infidelity when Schwarzenegger admitted that he fathered son Joseph Baena with the family’s former housekeeper, Mildred “Patty” Baena. Joseph still remains close to his father. Mildred and Schwarzenegger attended his graduation together in 2019. Baena who aspires to become an actor and bodybuilder had claimed in one of his interviews, “I remember the day very vividly. I was in the eighth grade. Fifth or sixth period. And I get called out of class to leave. And my mom’s there, and she’s like, ‘We gotta go— everyone is finding out about you and who your father is. I’m 13, Your body’s transforming; your mind is transforming. And now my life transformed before my eyes," as per Men's health. He spoke about his mother and said, “She was really the only person I had, and I was really the only person that she had,” Baena says. “No one knew, and everyone wanted the details. We had each other’s backs.”

Reverend's mother then told her, "You can't come live here… but you do have permission to go out and become Maria." Shriver claims, she felt less invisible after the divorce, she stated, "I had never given myself permission to — to feel, to be vulnerable, to be weak, to be brought to my knees. And the world did it to me. And then I was like, "OK, God, let's go." Shriver added, "I grew up feeling invisible in an incredibly public, famous family. There were a lot of really big characters in that family." 'It's not about other people seeing you, it's about you seeing yourself. And that took me a really long time, a really long time to learn," she said to Hoda. The journalist then said, "What actually makes people feel seen and worthy is talking to them, sitting with them, calling them, slowing down… sitting on the porch, going, "I don't have anywhere to go.
