Marcus Coloma is leaving the ABC daytime soap ‘General Hospital' after a three-year run as Prince Nikolas Cassadine. The 44-year-old actor, who joined the soap in 2019, reportedly declined to shoot his final scenes after learning he'd been let go.

The show confirmed the news of his departure to Soap Opera Digest saying, “Marcus Coloma will no longer be playing the role of Nikolas Cassadine. His last airdate will be at the end of January.” The role was originally played by Tyler Christopher in 1996, with a number of other actors playing Nikolas over the years, including Coltin Scott and Nick Stabile.

The buzz comes after the actor went on to unfollow all his GH costars both on Twitter and Instagram, reports CelebDirtyLaundry. Pointing that out, one wrote, "So I just saw a post Marcus Coloma aka Nik got fired & /or unfollowed GH cast members. Look, I appreciated him in the beginning but his version of Nikolas became unauthentic n so many ways." But on the other hand, many were left upset with the news with one saying, "I am upset. I really liked his portrayal of Nikolas. Marcus is a great actor. Very sincere and charismatic. It makes no sense at all." One more commented, "I’m just hearing the news, it’s awful!"

One of the fans expressed by writing, "@marcuscoloma so sorry to hear that you will no longer be on GH. I really liked you as Nicholas and love all the videos you post," while another wrote, "I'm sorry to see you go. You were great at taking a part and making it your own, a great actor. You deserved better. I wish you success in your next endeavor."
