'Manifest' Season 1 finale: Fans suggest the possible meaning of 828, going by 'Estimated Time of Departure'

The number has been a lingering phenomenon throughout the show and it could be that with the finale, we now know what Rake has been trying to indicate

Montego Air Fight 828 might not be a human character but this is one character who can easily be the protagonist of the show. Created by Jeff Rake, ever since 'Manifest' aired its first episode back in September 2018, the plane and its number have been at the center of every sub-plot, while the plotline chiefly revolves around the mystery of its disappearance.

The mystery began when Montego Air Fight 828 went missing for almost five and a half years, but when it finally returned, none of the passengers had aged a day. The number 828 was a recurring element in the show, and every episode in some way or the other would refer to the number, such as the number of Michaela's house, the number on the gate of the abandoned garage in Episode 1, the number which Michaela's mother weaved on her pillow cover, and most of all, 828 would often appear on clocks in the show.
