The BTS Army predicted that Mnet Asia Music Awards 2020 would be swept clean by BTS. But global sensation BTS’ wins are so obvious that even MAMA 2020 is not even trying to hide it, fans believe.

BTS have already won the Best Dance Performance group award with their Grammy Nominated ‘Dynamite’ performance, plus James Corden announced the ‘Album of the year Award’ which the band won for their 'Map of the Soul:7' album, released at the beginning of the year, and continued to be one of the Best-selling albums of the year, ranking No. 1 in Billboards 200. The BTS Army believes that the win was "obvious" the moment Corden appeared on screen and introduced himself as the Papa Mochi of the said group.

A fan said, “you show us james corden and we already know who won the award.” Another said, “THEYRE NOT EVEN TRYING TO BE SECRETIVE PLS.” A fan quipped, “The second I saw James Corden I knew it’s going to BTS lmao,” to which another user said, “Yep! I heard his name and said "PAPA MOCHI!" to my dog...who looked at me like I was on crack. I knew it was in the bag at that point.” A fan said, “Last year was jimmy fallon we knew straight away who’s the winner.” Another said, “ikrrr. they made it so obvious jdkakajjsks.”
A fan said, “JAMES CORDEN IS HERE??? we didnt ask for HIM we asked for PARK SUNGJIN.”

BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ for the dance performance was nominated against ATEEZ – ‘INCEPTION’, EXO – ‘Obsession’, NCT 127 – ‘Kick It’, TXT – ‘Can’t You See Me?’ and SEVENTEEN – ‘Left & Right’.

For each of MAMA's category, the winning criteria is different. For the Artist of the Year and other Artist category awards, the winner is decided based on 30% official votes, 30% judge panel, 20% digital song sales plus 20% physical album sales. For ‘Song of the Year’ and Song Genre Category Awards, the title goes on the basis of 20% official votes, 40% judge panel, 30% digital song sales, 10% physical album sales. Major awards like ‘Album of the Year’ is solely decided on numbers of 40% judge panel and 60% physical album sales.

This year, MAMA has tweaked the voting rule of ‘Worldwide Fans Choice Top 10’, which will now be decided based on 60% official votes, 20% social media votes, 20% global music video views along with Worldwide Icon of the Year whose criteria is the same as Fans’ choice Top 10. For the ‘Best Music Video Award’, the criteria remains 70% judge panel votes plus 30% global music video views.
