'Cringe': Fans blast Jimmy Kimmel as Malala Yousafzai shuts down his awkward question like a pro

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Over the years Oscars have given us hilarious cringe-worthy moments, from the famous Jennifer Lawrence's tipsy fall while receiving Best Actress Oscar for 'Silver Linings Playbook' in 2013 to Will Smith's infamous slapping of host Chris Rock last year. Well, seemingly this year of Oscars 2023 also did not fail us.

During the 95th Academy Awards, Oscars 2023 host Jimmy Kimmel jokingly asks human-rights activist Malala Yousafzai from her seat in the audience at the Dolby Theatre about the supposed saliva-fueled beef between 'Don't Worry Darling' costars, Chris Pine and Harry Styles. However, Malala's subtle response to the question allegedly backfired on Kimmel.

'I only talk about peace!'

"Your work on human rights and education for women and children is an inspiration. As the youngest Nobel Prize winner in history, I was wondering, do you think Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine?" Kimmel, 55, asked Malala, 25 as reading a supposed question from a fan. "I only talk about peace," Malala responded to the host as the Oscar audience burst into a crackle of laughter.

'What a downfall..!'

However, the humorous question did not settle well with the internet trolls. One user on Twitter wrote, "this was so awkward my god malala deserves better." Another questioned, "is he stupid or dumb." A third added, "Cringe." A fourth claimed, "can we ban jimmy kimmel from hosting the oscars please?" A fifth claimed, "she’s like an actual important woman and the intentional attempt to bring her down to his level feels so malicious lol." "harry’s always at the scene of the crime," a user noted. "you can see the awkwardness she feels :( jimmy is so weird and annoying," read a tweet. Another chimed, "No what made him think she cares enough to have an opinion on that." "Didn't he have something better to say? First, the thing between Chris Rock and Will Smith, now this? that's what the Oscars are now? What a downfall..." a user commented. A user claimed, "bruh Harry stays in everyone’s minds rent free." “'I only talk about peace.' I love her!" remarked a tweet.
