'Thrift Shop' fame Macklemore just dropped a new single to spread the Christmas cheer! Revisiting 1999, it brings all the nostalgia and visuals of the holiday season and looks back at all the little things one cherished most as a child.

Featuring UK soul singer Dan Caplen, the song has been titled 'It's Christmas Time' and takes inspiration from the 1983 holiday film 'A Christmas Story' and the 1990 flick 'Home Alone'.

Shedding light on the "holiday spirit" in every frame, the Seattle-based rapper said in a statement, "At some point every holiday season, while watching 'Home Alone' and drinking hot chocolate, the same idea hits me. 'You are the second grown rap version of Kevin McCallister. Now act like it and make a Christmas song.' So I did."

With lyrics that go, "Oh, I wish it was '99, when I was a kid at Christmas time/ Couldn't go to bed that night Santa Claus sliding/ snow in the driveway/ Under the lit-up Christmas tree with my crazy-ass family/ Singing, oh, oh oh, oh/ Wish I was a kid at Christmas again," the music video encapsulates the "true purpose and meaning of Christmas." He added, "We must not forget the magic and that in the end, it's all about giving."

Fans seem to love the new single. One music lover posted, "This is the best Christmas song I have ever heard," and another one wrote, "Who else is adding this to their playlist of Christmas music for the entire year." Another comment read: "I can't get enough of this song. It's gonna be my Christmas song. Macklemore did it again."

One fan tweeted, "I’m not a fan of Christmas music but this song has been on repeat since it dropped! @macklemore dropping another banger. Do yourself a favor and go and listen to this song!" Another one wrote, "Dope song, got to love Xmas in the 509, just the song I need to bring me back to my feet."

While Jason Koenig directed the music video, the rapper is all set to perform his latest track on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on Wednesday, December 18.
