'Love you mama': Jeremy Renner shares nostalgic throwback picture of him and his mom Valerie Cearley
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jeremy Renner expressed his love for his mother, Valerie Cearley, in a heartfelt Instagram Story. The Avengers star tweeted a newspaper clipping with a young photo of himself with his mother. It was presumably published at the time he garnered his first Oscar nod for his part in 'The Hurt Locker'.
"This came to my attention...love you mama," Renner captioned the photo, showing his admiration for his mother Valerie. The image was characterized in the newspaper photo as a young Jeremy Renner with his mother, Valerie.

First-time Oscar nominee
While the exact date of publication was unknown, the newspaper mentions Renner as a "first-time Oscar nominee," implying that it was published prior to the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010, the People noted. Renner was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of a US Army sergeant in 'The Hurt Locker', but Jeff Bridges won the prize that year for 'Crazy Heart'.
At present, Renner is recovering from a near-fatal snow plow accident that took place on Christmas day. With over 30 broken bones, which included eight ribs broken in fourteen places, Renner was hospitalized for several days. Besides chest trauma, he broke his right ankle, right knee, left tibia and left ankle. His lung was also pierced by the bone from the rib and also injured his liver.
'The body is miraculous'
A few weeks ago Renner wrote, how he has decided to "push through the pain to progress." "...The body is miraculous…. Even though I feel like the Tin Man, needing oil for all my new joints (hips, knees, ankles, tibia etc )..." 'The Avengers' star recently jogged for the first time since the snow plow accident. He also went to judge UCLA's Spring Sing 2023 with his 10-year-old daughter Ava. Her mother Valerie has been beside her to help him recover. In a mothers Day post, Renner acknowledges her strength and apologized for "the weight I’ve made you carry".

Renner wrote along with three pictures he shared, "Mother Earth, Mother Nature, and Mama… No matter how challenging, painful, or difficult life can be for me recently, it does not elude you. I’m sorry for the weight I’ve made you carry, yet so very grateful that you can with grace and strength. Thank you, love you, mama…. My rock. #happymothersday."
While giving credit to his mental strength in overcoming the pain, he shared, "I think I'm mentally strong. I don't know about other people. I know I'm mentally strong, and I get that from my mom," he added, highlighting the influence Valerie has had on his life.
