SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Kim Dong Kyu landed his first K-drama role after an unexpected twist in a fortune-telling game paired him with Rio Yamashita on the Netflix show 'Love Like a K-Drama'. Before this, he had been developing a bond with his ex-connection, Nozomi Bando.

In Episode 7 of 'Love Like a K-Drama', the twist in pairings unfolded as Rio, who already harbored feelings for Dong Kyu, became his new on-screen partner.

Rio, already a talented actor, was previously paired with Tae Gyun Lee, earning praise from judges for her exceptional performances. Now paired with Dong Kyu, the duo delivered a stellar show, leaving audiences and judges thoroughly impressed with their on-screen chemistry and acting prowess.

This seemingly hurt Nozomi was left behind feeling alone.

Nozomi appeared visibly distressed after witnessing Dong Kyu and Rio's emotionally charged performance, especially as the judges showered them with praise.

The realization that they were selected for the next stage heightened her sadness, knowing she couldn't continue the journey with Dong Kyu. Feeling left out once again, she couldn't contain her emotions and was seen sobbing after their powerful performance.

The scene painted an emotional picture of Nozomi grappling with disappointment and the heartache of not moving forward with her desired connection, Dong Kyu.

Rio Yamashita believes feelings for Dong Kyu may affect her acting

After being selected, Rio opened up to Dong Kyu, expressing her struggles in balancing work and love in her life.

Curious about Dong Kyu's feelings, she candidly asked him if he would like to be paired with her again in the next scene. Dong Kyu responded positively, expressing his interest in continuing their on-screen partnership.

However, Rio shared a revealing insight into her priorities, confessing that she has always been work-oriented and tends to prioritize her professional life over matters of the heart. Despite the budding connection between them, Rio emphasized her commitment to her career.

Dong Kyun feels guilty leaving behind Nozomi Bando

After securing his role with Rio, Dong Kyu experienced mixed emotions. While he was undeniably happy about the opportunity with Rio, a pang of lingering guilt surfaced within him for leaving behind Nozomi, with whom he had developed feelings and a connection.

Witnessing Nozomi's sadness only intensified his sense of guilt for not being paired with her.

In contrast, Rio was bubbling with excitement and optimism about their roles. She looked forward to performing well and embracing the challenges ahead, also because she was finally paired with her crush Dong Kyu.
