'The Masked Singer' Season 14 welcomes Jessica Simpson to add to the curiosity as finale faces delay
On the latest episode of ‘The Masked Singer’, Jessica Simpson walked onto the stage, and viewers had to do a double-take as the guessing games about masked celebrities took a backseat. The singer made a surprise appearance during the Season 14 finale, stepping out alongside host Nick Cannon. “I couldn’t be more proud,” she said during the broadcast. She added, “I will say, this is the moment. How amazing, right?! I’m just so proud!” She wore a mesh top and leather pants as she geared up to give the judges and viewers one of the biggest clues about a finalist. Meanwhile, earlier this month, Simpson revealed that she will return to live performances. She took to social media, sounding genuinely fired up, talking about stepping back into her “concert era.”
Over the past few years, Simpson has been juggling several ventures. Her fashion empire, The Jessica Simpson Collection, continues to be a powerhouse, reportedly pulling in massive numbers year after year. Her music career hasn’t been completely on pause either. In 2025, she released ‘Nashville Canyon’, a two-part EP. Viewers were delighted to see her on ‘The Masked Singer.’ However, the finale didn’t go exactly as planned, due to a scheduled address by Donald Trump, which cut into primetime across major channels, including FOX, CBS, NBC, and ABC. That meant that the two-hour finale of ‘The Masked Singer’ had to hit pause right in the middle of all the suspense.
The show kicked off at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday night, moving through performances and clues, and then at 9 p.m. ET, it paused. The broadcast switched over to the presidential address, which ran for roughly 20 minutes, leaving fans hanging mid-finale. Around 9:20 p.m. ET, the show picked back up, continuing from where it had left off, stretching a bit past its usual end time. The finale featured four major unmaskings, with the last batch of contestants battling it out for the Golden Mask Trophy. The finalists were Cat Witch, Galaxy Girl, Crane, and Pugcasso.
Throughout the season, the show peeled back the masks on a long list of familiar faces. The unmasked singers include Rachel Platten, Evan Ross-Næss, Greg Mathis, Alexi Lalas, Jack Wagner, Heidi Montag, Billy Ray Cyrus, Teddi Mellencamp, Claudia Oshry, Taraji P. Henson, Tone Loc, Tiffany Haddish, Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, and David Ortiz. Still, for many watching, the biggest surprise of the night wasn’t a reveal or a performance at all. It was Jessica Simpson.
