Louis Tomlinson wins ‘Artist of the Summer’ award with 13,243,647 votes, fans say it's ‘recognition he deserves’

Not only this, but the 28-year-old singer-songwriter also got 28,454 web votes and 143,476 RTs from his fans all over the world

Louis Tomlinson has won the ‘Artist of the Summer’ award in a social media contest. The former One Direction member scooped the award with 13,243,647 social media votes alone. Not only did he do this, but the 28-year-old singer-songwriter also got 28,454 web votes and 143,476 RTs from his fans all over the world.

According to reports, Louis Tomlinson scored a whopping 26,830,849,000 points in total to take home the coveted title. Louis, who has a strong social media family, got a tremendous response from his fans after the good news started doing the rounds on the Internet. His ardent fans started pouring in congratulations and best wishes for the singer which also led to #LOUISWON trending on Twitter.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, one fan said, “LOUIS WON ARTIST OF THE YEAR HARRYS CASTING FOR THE GOLDEN MV ZAYNS IN A MOVIE LIAMS FACEBOOK VIDEO UNRELEASED CARPOOL FOOTAGE BETTER THAN THE 23RD.”



 

Sharing the figures, one fan stated, “Louis won by 26,830,849,000 votes if that's not KING MOVES THEN I DONT KNOW WHAT IS.”



 

Another fan sharing the good news said, “#ProudOfLouis WE MADE IT LOUIS WON.”



 

One fan said, “SO I WAS ASLEEP FOR 3 HOURS AND LOUIS WON, ZAYN IS IN A MOVIE, THERES A GOLDEN MV, AND NIALLS BIRTHDAY IS IN 3 DAYS”



 

One fan asserted, “LOUIS WON!!! #ProudOfLouis  WE MADE IT BOYS ANF GIRLS AND NON-BINARY LOUIES. Dont mind me just gonna be crying all night because lou can finally get some recognition that he deserves.”



 

This is surely a time to celebrate. One Direction, which disbanded in 2016, also made it to the headlines a few days ago when their unseen 2015 Carpool Karaoke clip made it to social media. The 20-second clip soon shows former One Direction members ordering from McDonald's. 

After their split in 2016, all the members of the band which included Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne, pursued solo careers.
