LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: R&B rapper GI Joe OMG died at age 33 on Tuesday, September 20. The news of the Los Angeles native's tragic death was revealed by his publicist Rebecca Kinchen. The cause of death is currently unknown, but an investigation is ongoing. An autopsy will soon report the cause of the rapper's death.

GI Joe OMG, officially known as Brandon Joseph, was popularly known for his collaboration with his close childhood friend and rapper Nipsey Hussle in his album titled 'Mailbox Money' in 2018. The Rapper's publicist Rebecca said, "We literally have no idea what happened. He was found dead and we are awaiting the results of the coroner's report to learn details," The Sun reported.

The publicist paid tribute to the late rapper, saying, "If there is anything we want to share about this man, it's that he was an amazing, solid man that was the best father to his two children and ALWAYS put his family first." Social media users also paid their respect and mourned the loss of the late rapper even as many rumors floated around social media over his death. Many say the rapper died in a car wreck, while some allege the father of two was killed in a shooting. However, his publicist has denied all the rumors and called them false. 



 

K Duece, a friend and collaborator of the rapper, said he was a "good friend, father, artist and a role model to a lot of people in South Central LA," according to sources. "(GI) Was a solid and genuine individual who stood 10 toes, he went out the way we all would wanna leave.. at peace," K Duece added." GI Joe faced a lot of legal problems throughout his life. The rapper first started writing songs in prison for his inmates, and after he was released he planned to pursue his career in music. His fans shared emotional tribute on social media, saying the rapper was one of the rising stars in the industry. One of the fans wrote, "In Disbelief of all these 'RIP GI JOE tweets'  i hope it ain't true bro is one of my favorite artists and a real cool dude. Cant." While another fan remarked, "We keep losing the greats. RIP GI JOE OMG." "RIP GI Joe. Such a shame," wrote another. One of the fans paid his tribute to him and his music saying, "RIP Joe OMG! His verse on only a case is one of my favorites."
