Logan Paul drew the ire of Zayn Malik fans on social media after his comments on the One Direction star during an appearance on the 'Flagrant' podcast.

Malik has been on the news since his fellow One Directioner Liam Payne appeared on Paul's podcast 'Impaulsive' to talk about the band. The 'Dusk Till Dawn' hitmaker became the center of discussion during Paul's recent appearance on the Flagrant podcast, when the YouTuber also made some comments about boxer Floyd Mayweather and fellow YouTuber KSI

The podcast episode, titled 'Logan Paul Roasts Mayweather and Toasts KSI', brought Malik into the picture while touching on Liam's recent interview. “I know the guy who beats up Gigi Hadid or whatever," Flagrant co-host and comedian Andrew Schulz said. “Beats up like regularly," Paul added. “Not beats up, curses her mom or something," Schulz interjected, but Paul continued by saying, “He hit her mom and you can’t do that. You can’t hit your girlfriend’s mom.” The YouTuber later described the crooner as being from England but being an "ethnic" person when asked where he was from. "What direction was that guy facing? Was it Mecca?” Schulz quipped.

Clips from the podcast made the rounds on social media over the next two days, before Malik's fans rushed to his defense and started the hashtag '#loganpaulisoverparty'. "It’s 2022 and some people still think it’s funny and cool to be racist? #loganpaulisoverparty," one fan tweeted. "In the 21st century, mocking the religion and race of human beings is not a good joke at all... #loganpaulisoverparty," another wrote. "Being a “comedian” is not an excuse for being racist. Stop dragging it out and clinging to zayn for clout. Racism is way too normalized in the music industry," a comment read.

"We are in 2022 and why do not you want to understand that joking and insulting religion and race is not funny at all and is disrespectful? Logan Paul Shut your fucking mouth and RESPECT ZAYN We love you zayn #loganpaulisoverparty," someone else added. "We couldn't care less about what Logan Paul has to say but it's 2022 & privileged & disgusting people like him are getting away with being Islamophobic and throwing racist statements at zayn just because zayn said NO to hanging out with his brother," another fan chimed in.

Paul, however, did not seem to be fazed by the outrage. He decided to fan the flames instead, joking in a tweet that his “favorite One Directioner is Charlie Puth" while also embracing the hashtag #loganpaulisoverparty.

That said, this is not the first time One Direction fans got the phrase to trend on Twitter. In May, the YouTuber faced backlash after former band member Payne appeared in an episode of his 'Impaulsive' podcast. Payne claimed at the time that he was one of the founding members of the band and that the outfit was designed around him. The comments were not appreciated by some fans who thought he was trivializing the contributions of his fellow band members Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. However, Payne came forward and apologized shortly after, saying he had only love and respect for his ex-bandmates.
