The massively popular country group Little Big Town have made another splash in the country music scene. The four-member group consisting of Jimi Westbrook, Kimberly Schlapman, Karen Fairchild, and Philip Sweet are poised to drop their ninth studio album 'Nightfall' on Friday, January 17, and their fans can't wait to lap up the latest release. One of their biggest fans? None other than the reigning queen of American pop herself, Taylor Swift.

The 'Lover' singer was such a big fangirl that she even wrote an essay about Little Big Town while still in high school, and then, years later, wrote a song "Taylor-made" specifically for them and sent it to the country-pop group. That Swift-authored song, their 2016 hit 'Better Man' garnered Little Big Town one of their multiple Grammy award wins. "She [Taylor Swift] literally just sent us an e-mail, had this song and said, 'I could hear your harmonies on this'," said Little Big Town's Phillip Sweet. "We listened to it and fell in love with it immediately." The band is renowned for their gorgeous four-part harmony songs like 'Girl Crush' and 'Pontoon', and it's easy to see why Taylor fell in love with them all those years ago.

Another significant song that has earned them a nomination at the 2020 Grammy Awards is the sensational 'The Daughters' which seemed to have struck a nerve, if not a chord, with the American public. With lyrics like "I've heard of God the son and God the father/I'm still looking for a God for the daughters" it's perhaps made them an easy target for those of a religious bend (who showed up to picket at their concerts), but the lyrics are actually a take on the demands and expectations that women are subjected to in today's modern society. "I’m raising daughters, Phillip’s raising a daughter," says Kimberly Schlapman, "so we want to empower this new generation of women to believe in themselves and know that whatever they dream up, they can do all on their own."

The group also recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show and performed an epic rendition of 'Sugar Coat' last night. You can check that out here:

The new upcoming album, 'Nightfall' and its supporting tour is already taking social media by storm -- fans are, little by little, making a big noise about Little Big Town. "So excited, I can't wait!" says one user. "I have all my Little Big Town T-shirts clean I will wear one every day this week in honor of #Nightfall and your tour launch" says another follower. "Just bought my ticket!! Date night with myself! I saw your first headlining tour opening night in Ohio! Can’t wait to see y’all again!😍" crows another one of their millions of fans.

The band is gearing up for their upcoming 'Nightfall' release show at Carnegie Hall in New York this Thursday, January 16, and will be playing at the famous Apollo Theater the next two nights after that, on January 17 and 18, 2020. For tour dates and venue information, click here.
