Fans shocked as frail Lisa Marie Presley slurred speech at Golden Globes just 2 days before her death
CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA: Just two days before Lisa Marie Presley suffered a cardiac arrest, she appeared shaky and unsteady at the 2023 Golden Globes. Following the tragic incident, the 54-year-old died on Thursday, January 12. "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known," her mother Priscilla Presley said in a statement.
Since her death, however, social media users have pointed out that Lisa Marie appeared frail at the Gloden Globes, particularly during a red carpet interview with Extra TV on Tuesday. She could be seen leaning on her friend, 80-year-old talent manager Jerry Schilling, during the conversation with host Billy Bush. At one point, she leans on Schilling's arm and says, "I'm gonna grab your arm," before talking about the weather in California and Austin Butler's role as her late father in the movie 'Elvis.'

Lisa Marie spoke about Butler's role in the movie and said, “‘It’s kind of done in sort of a funny, joking way, the way [Elvis] spoke, but Austin actually got it and did it perfectly without making it comical,” according to New York Post. In a TikTok video, Lisa Marie appeared to be shuffling and stumbling as she walked with Butler at the ceremony, seeming to need support.
'The King's baby is with him'
Furthermore, internet users were shocked by Lisa Marie's sudden demise noting how she was unwell the whole time at the ceremony. One user wrote on Twitter, "Wow. For Lisa Marie Presley and Priscilla to watch Austin Butler take home a Golden Globe for his portrayal as Elvis, to then have Elvis’s daughter Lisa Marie die two days later is CHILLING!!" Another chimed, "And only days after her father's birthday at that." A third user said, "OMG!! You see it in her face! That look that's said to be visible in someone before they have a heart attack. My friend had the same look if exhaustion before his heart attack two years ago." "she just celebrated her dad's birthday last weekend and his life through the movie just few days ago at the golden globe," read a tweet. A user tweeted, "How sad this is... the King’s baby is now with him. Life is so precious, and heart attacks or heart disease doesn’t care who it attacks. Rest In Peace." "She had been struggling since the death of her son," claimed a user. "I was actually watching the movie when the news broke of her cardiac arrest, May she Rest In Heaven with her Dad and Son," read a tweet.
