Rapper Lil Durk, who has been teasing his sixth studio album ‘The Voice’ for the last few months, has finally dropped it on the internet. The Chicago rapper announced the same on his official Twitter account a few hours prior to the release where he shared the poster and captioned it as, “The voice dropping midnight tell the trenches I’m back..#doit4von.”

The 28-year-old hip-hop artist’s brand new project is dedicated to his late rapper friend King Von. He has also been promoting the hashtag #doit4von since the day King Von was killed in a shooting incident in Atlanta. For the unversed, King Von was signed to the same label as that of Lil Durk. ‘The Voice’ is a follow-up to the rapper’s fifth studio album, ‘Just Cause Y’all Waited 2’, which was released on May 8, 2020, and included songs such as ‘Different Meaning', ‘Street Affection', and ‘3 Headed Goat’, among others.

Release date

Lil Durk’s ‘The Voice’ hits the internet on December 24, 2020.

Concept

Lil Durk shared an official poster of his new record when he had announced the release date on his Instagram account as well as his Twitter account. The poster features late rapper King Von in the front taking all the limelight while Durk sits beside him.

The album’s lead single and title track ‘The Voice’ was released on September 4, 2020. This single was released in place of the album as Lil Durk had first announced that the project would be releasing on the same day as the rival rapper 6ix9ine’s album ‘Tattletales’ but that did not happen, as reported by the website Genius. Unfortunately, an unfinished version of the album was leaked online on December 13, 2020, and then another leaked version of the album surfaced on December 23, 2020, just one day before the official release of the project.

Tracklist

Lil Durk’s new record ‘The Voice’ is packed with 16 songs, out of which tracks like ‘The Voice', ‘Backdoor', and ‘Stay Down’ featuring 6LACK & Young Thug were released earlier with an intention to promote the album.
