Liam Payne and TikTok star Dixie D'Amelio drop holiday song 'Naughty List', fans say he 'needed that clout boost'
Liam Payne has collaborated with TikTok star Dixie D'Amelio for his brand new Christmas track titled 'Naughty List'. D'Amelio's collaboration with Payne, with who she crossed path on TikTok, is the 19-year-old singer’s follow-up to her debut single 'Be Happy' released earlier this year with a remix featuring Blackbear and Lil Mosey. 'Naughty List' was released on YouTube and can be heard below.
The former One Direction star made the announcement official on his Instagram account and wrote, "Well, I had this whole grand plan about announcing who was featuring on my new song 'Naughty List' on Friday but you all did it again and found out! You’re all detectives! I'm so excited to have Dixie D'Amelio join, so say hello, give her a warm welcome like I know you guys can, and listen to our track on Friday! I have fallen in love with TikTok and I’m excited to have some fun leading up to the holidays with Dixie and her family. As we approach Halloween and Christmas during such a whirlwind year it’s important everyone looks out for each other, so please join in the fun with us. We’re going to be doing a very special TikTok Live this weekend to tell you all about our plans for the next few weeks."
On the upbeat and lively Christmas track, the two sing, "Now we’re on the naughty list / Must have been the way we kissed / Santa saw the things we did / And put us on the naughty list/ Underneath the mistletoe / We were supposed to take it slow / Baby you’re my favorite gift / Now we’re on the naughty list."
Reactions
Fans of Payne had mixed feelings about the new single with D'Amelio, who is sister of another TikTok star Charli D'Amelio. One fan wrote, "I’m sorry when did Dixie D'Amelio make a song with f***ing Liam Payne?! Is she a real singer now?" while another tweeted, "They autotuned Dixie so much on 'Naughty List' you can’t even tell at first if that’s a girl's voice or man's voice LMAO doesn’t sound like her at all... I get it, she obviously can’t easily compare to Liam’s angelic voice."
