PUGLIA, ITALY: ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Lena Headey got married to her partner Marc Menchaca on Thursday, October 6, in a private ceremony with just her loved ones in attendance. The British actress, best known for her part as the dreadful Queen Cersei in the HBO fantasy drama, married her long-time boyfriend and ‘Ozark’ actor Menchaca in Puglia, Italy.

A few images from the wedding have surfaced on Instagram where a radiant Headey, 49, dressed in a white wedding gown is seen smiling ear to ear as she walks next to the groom. Menchaca, 46, looked dapper in a blue three-piece suit and long mustache. Sophie Turner, who played Headey's on-screen rival Sansa Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’, and her husband, Joe Jonas were among the list of high-profile guests. Michala Cutting, Brian Moore, and Charley McEwan, pop icon Rick Astley, Conleth Hill, well known for his role as Varys on ‘Game of Thrones’, and former co-star Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister, were reportedly present at the venue as well. While the images were posted by the celebrities as Instagram Stories, the pictures are available on a fan site called GOT Insider.

'Games of Thrones' star Lena Headey claims saying no to Harvey Weinstein's sexual advances impacted her career's growth

Headey was earlier married to musician Peter Paul Loughran from 2007 to 2013. The ex-couple has an 11-year-old son named Wylie. Later on, she had a daughter named Teddy in 2015 with her then-boyfriend, filmmaker Dan Cadan, a childhood acquaintance; however, the two parted ways in 2018—two years before she started dating Menchaca. Although they were spotted together several months before the debut of HBO's Stephen King adaption ‘The Outsider,’ in which Menchaca played a significant role, the couple only officially confirmed their relationship in November 2020.

The British actress who has been in a number of films set in both the US and the UK seemed to prefer relocating to Los Angeles in order to have more opportunities. A person close to Headey earlier informed The Sun in 2021 that  "Lena now sees herself living in the States for the foreseeable future. It’s where the parts are for her and she’s got a blossoming relationship with Marc so she sees no point in her living in the UK."
