South Korean singer-songwriter Lee JinAh returns with her latest mini-album 'Candy Pianist', led by the single 'Dreamy Alarm'. The release follows JinAh's contribution 'Love With You' to the soundtrack of the television series 'Sweet Munchies' starring Jung Il-woo, Kang Ji-young and Lee Hak-joo.

Lee Jin-ah, currently signed to the label Antenna, made her debut in 2013 with her first full-length album 'Unvisible'. She is most known, however, for her appearance on season four of the SBS show 'K-pop Star' on which JinAh finished as the second runner-up of SBS's K-pop Star Season 4, losing out to first runner-up Jung Seung-hwan and winner Katie Kim. JinAh released her first EP 'Random' in 2017, followed by her second album, 'Jinah Restaurant Full Course' in 2018, with several singles and soundtrack appearances punctuating the releases. In 2019, she married pianist Shin Seong-jin. And given her latest release is titled 'Candy Pianist', there is perhaps a bit of a teaser in the name as to what to expect from the album's tracks.

The music video for the track features boy band Astro's Cha Eun-woo as JinAh's love interest, and naturally, seeing the idol play what appears to be the ideal boyfriend has his fans swooning. One fan said, "Eunwoo is a dream," another stated, "Sweetest boy with his sweetest smile. Heโ€™s so endearing :(," one tweeted, "I feel so weak when Cha Eunwoo stares like that," and one fan shared, "Astro deserves the whole world."

The song and video also earned high praise, with one fan stating, "The mv was so funnyyyy hahahah Antenna fammmm." A romantic plot might not immediately strike one as humorous, but the video adds a little twist by playing off the recently-popular filter that transforms one's face into that of their anime counterpart. JinAh, one her apparent quest to find love, is consistently foiled each time her love interest's "mask" falls off until she finally finds what she's looking for in Eunwoo. By the end, however, it's JinAh who finally lets her mask drop as she basks in the sunlight of a new day.

Perfect for both a romantic daydream and a lazy Sunday, 'Dreamy Alarm' is a, put simply, a tale of finding love and being content with oneself. Check out the video for 'Dreamy Alarm' below.
