'A lesson in graciousness': Lady Gaga helps SZA with her dress despite losing a Grammy to her
Last week at Oscars, Lady Gaga's sweet onstage appearance with 76-year-old Liza Minnelli won netizens' hearts after the singer helped out the Hollywood legend who has retreated from the spotlight in recent years, without it being awkward. And on Sunday, April 3, the 'I’ll Never Love Again' singer helped SZA with her Jean Paul Gaultier dress as she made her way onstage with her crutches to accept Grammy.
The 'Kiss Me More' singer, won the Grammy for her collab with Doja Cat in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, beating Gaga and Tony Bennett for their song 'Love for Sale.' Despite SZA's win, Gaga showed no hard feelings and was keen to ensure that her opponent looked nothing less than perfect on stage. In the short video clip that is doing rounds on social media, Gaga can be seen picking up SZA's long tulle train that got tangled as the 'Good Days' singer navigated her way onto the stage.

Previously, SZA revealed that she used crutches at The Grammys because she’d fallen out of bed. "It's very funny because I fell out of bed right before it was time to like leave and get ready for this, like the day before," she told People. "But I definitely- that's the way it goes. Like everything awesome in my life has always come with something like very random but it just adds to the energy and I'm just grateful."
Viewers who noticed the sweet gesture at the Grammys were quick to heap praises on Gaga for being so thoughtful and generous. One wrote, "Imagine if all celebrities were as kind as @ladygaga? What a glorious example they'd set. Not for kids, but for adults." Another added, "A true Queen will straighten another Queen's crown without telling the world it was crooked."
One wrote, "LadyGaga has always shown herself to be a good-hearted person, but her demeanor with #LizaMinnelli at the Oscars & with SZA at the Grammys shows just how humble & sweet she really is. I love knowing that about her." Another commented, "This after losing the Grammy to SZA... Such grace, such selflessness @ladygaga is always a class act. A lesson in graciousness."
Another quipped, "Idc what y’all say but gaga was too sweet for being the only one helping SZA." A third added, "Lady Gaga gettin SZA’s train of her dress was a vibe love to see women lookin out for women #GRAMMYs." Someone else wrote, "Doja and SZA getting up there together being so awesome together while Gaga helped SZA's dress. I mean: women are truly thriving and supporting each other out there."
