Kylie Jenner’s ‘distasteful’ Astroworld-themed birthday party for children slammed over tragic 2021 stampede
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kylie Jenner, who recently celebrated the birthdays of her two children, Stormi and Aire Webster, has come under fire for the decorations she used at the party. They have been referred to as "distasteful" online because they were themed around the Astroworld celebration, which ended tragically in 2021.
The 25-year-old reality star began celebrating both of her children's birthdays on the same day in February, and she shared some touching Instagram posts in their honor. In the caption for Stormi, Kylie wrote: "I gave you the gift of life and life gave me the gift of you. the most special girl. this little face. i will miss it as it keeps changing. 5 years of loving you and forever more to go. i will always be there for you storm girl." In addition, Kylie shared a brief video of herself and her son Aire with the caption, "AIRE. my son, my moon, my stars. best year of my life with you. you complete us my angel. mommy loves you. happy 1st birthday. may God always bless you." But the 'The Kardashians' star didn't stop there; she also chose to give fans a peek into the birthday celebrations, something the Kardashian-Jenner family doesn't skip out on.

Kylie revealed pictures from the party through Instagram Stories on Wednesday, February 1, showing a bunch of inflatable heads that appeared to be copies of Travis Scott's 'Astroworld' album cover. One of the inflatables resembled the blow-up tunnel Kylie had used at her daughter's previous birthday celebrations, the theme for which had been dubbed Stormiworld. The Stormiworld theme is based on the names of Kylie's daughter Stormi and 'Astroworld,' the third studio album by Stormi's father Travis.
'People died Kylie'
Fans were responding positively to the affection, but many couldn't support the choice to reuse the big head from the 'Astroworld' album cover this year on Twitter. One fan wrote, "This was distasteful but who is surprised, thats their whole brand."

A third fan wrote, "ASTROWORLD was a horrific event and seeing this shows that Kylie and organizers of this party have no negative feelings associated with it and it's a big red flag."

What is the Astroworld Tragedy?
The cover art for rapper Travis Scott's third studio album, Astroworld, which was released in August 2018, features a large golden inflatable of Travis's head as the entrance to an amusement park. The gigantic head from the artwork was a prominent fixture during the first Astroworld Festival, which took place the same year as Travis's album.
The event also took place in 2019 but owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, it was postponed in 2020. So when it was revealed that the festival would return to Houston in November 2021, fans were thrilled. This celebration was tragically overshadowed by the deaths of 10 individuals, including a 9-year-old kid, due to a crowd surge.
Travis, who is renowned for encouraging fans to "rage" during his concerts, was accused of "inciting the crowd" after hundreds more people were injured during his headlining set at the Astroworld Festival on November 5, 2021. Additionally, it was claimed that Travis kept on performing for an additional 37 minutes after the festival had been deemed a mass casualty situation. Travis was not aware of the magnitude of the crowd surge, according to sources close to the rapper, who has also rejected legal responsibility for the fatalities and injuries, as reported by Buzzfeed.
