Kylie Jenner slammed for wearing 'disgusting' Givenchy noose necklace at Paris Fashion Week
PARIS, FRANCE: Kylie Jenner is currently involved in a fashion-related dispute. The beauty entrepreneur was spotted wearing a contentious Givenchy necklace in the style of a noose on Monday, January 23, while attending Fashion Week in Paris.
The 'Kardashians' star wore the problematic accessory with a bright blue dress and glittery pink Givenchy boots. Kylie, 25, posted images of her outfit to Instagram. In the first two images, she turned her back on the camera, obstructing the entire view of the necklace. The complete item, however, can be seen in the third image. Givenchy's Spring/Summer 2022 collection debuted with the open-collar necklace in October 2021, and it was immediately criticized for its offensive references.

Kylie's accessory choice was immediately criticized on social media as several claimed Givenchy had glorified slavery with the design. "@givenchy & & @KylieJenner yall support slavery? Because why would Givenchy create noose necklace understanding the atrocities of slavery globally. And, why would you, Kylie, wear a damn noose necklace and you have a HALF BLACK DAUGHTER & SON?! True racists," a Twitter user wrote. Another replied, "Because she don’t GAF about us! The only thing that family wants from black womens is something to steal & recreate. They only want black duck & sperm to create, what they wish they were! All they do is appropriate, and disrespect black womens because they can’t be us! Sickening." A third user said, "Kylie Jenner wearing a noose necklace is disgusting ,this woman has no shame at all ,is she picking her outfits on purpose knowing very well they will create controversy?"

Givenchy faced significant backlash when it introduced the open-collar necklace in their Spring/Summer 2022 collection in October 2021. Before that, Burberry received criticism for displaying a hoodie with a noose around the neck. Burberry apologized for the look, calling it "insensitive," and removed it from the collection, while Givenchy appeared to stand by its contentious design.
