Met Gala 2022: Kylie Jenner dresses as bride in baseball cap, fans say 'it just isn’t KYLIE'
Kylie Jenner left many people perplexed as she arrived at the star-studded Met Gala on Monday night, May 2. Kylie, 24, provided out of the ordinary bridal energy on the Met Gala red carpet just three months after welcoming a newborn son with Travis Scott, 30. Before stepping out, the Kylie Cosmetics mogul uploaded a charming behind-the-scenes video of her 4-year-old daughter Stormi ruffling her billowing white ballgown skirt.
Kylie presented the whole look on the red carpet, showcasing her offbeat take on wedding style with the tight corset top that had sheer panelling paired with a huge skirt. Rather than a traditional veil, she opted for a backwards white baseball cap with embellishments. A bridal birdcage veil dropped in front of the star's face as part of the cap.

Kylie's long dark hair peeped out from beneath a white veiled baseball cap, which she wore backwards for a more sporty style. Floral appliques decorated the headgear, which hid Kylie's prominent face slightly. The unusual dress had a long, floor-length skirt and a T-shirt-inspired mesh top on the mom of two. A pleated white spaghetti strap bodice with a sweetheart neckline was layered beneath the mesh.
The word 'OFF' was written along the front of the dress, implying that it was designed by the late Virgil Abloh's Off-White label. Kylie accessorized the attire with a set of glittering chandelier earrings that perched on the tops of her shoulders and a pair of transparent heels that popped out from under her gown.
Kylie made sure to reconnect with her older sister Khloe Kardashian after blazing the red carpet alone and climbing the museum stairs. Upon allowing the paparazzi to get a close look at Kylie's hair and makeup, the two posed for a photo behind a curtain.
The theme for the 2022 Met Gala is "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," with a focus on Gilded Glamour and white tie. According to Vogue, the event, which took place between 1870 and 1890, invited visitors to "embody the grandeur—and perhaps the dichotomy—of Gilded Age New York."
The official exhibit for this year's "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" will be on display in the storied museum's period-centric rooms, serving as a follow-up to last year's "A Lexicon of Fashion" and paying homage to American history.
Balmain in 2017, Versace in 2017, Alexander Wang in 2018 (three months after giving birth to Stormi) and Versace in 2019 are among Kylie's prior Met Gala looks. She skipped the 2021 Met Gala, which had been postponed until September 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak, just days after she began flaunting her expanding baby belly in New York City during her second pregnancy.
Many admirers took to Twitter to express their feelings over Kylie's 2022 Met Gala attire. One fan wrote, "I want to love this so badly but she just looks uncomfortable and it just isn’t KYLIE JENNER."
