LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Drama often costs money but sometimes it costs much more. Following her apparent shot at Selena Gomez earlier this month, Kylie Jenner reportedly lost nearly a million Instagram followers.

Instagram showed that the reality star and Jenner sister lost a total of one million followers this month, with her numbers falling from roughly 380 million to 379 million on the platform. This comes just around the time she faced criticism for ostensibly making fun of the Disney alum over a recent TikTok. The complicated and lengthy battle appears to have been started by a sharp post Jenner and Hailey Bieber shared, which the internet mistook for a jab at Gomez.

What really happened?

It appears that Gomez fans have flocked to the singer in droves after the founder of Kylie Skin shared a contentious post that appeared to make fun of the singer's eyebrows. Only days after Gomez overtook Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram, the conflict has caused Jenner to lose an estimated 1 million followers. Gomez, 30, currently has 389M followers, compared to Kylie Jenner, 25, who has 379 million. Jenner had 380M just a few days prior, but the ‘Only Murders In The Building' star dethroned her with 381M.

Selena Gomez allegedly accused Kylie Jenner of shading her after the singer wrote about "accidentally" laminating her "eyebrows too much" last week. The moment Selena revealed her brows, Kylie posted a close-up on her Instagram Stories with the remark, "This was an accident?????" and a screenshot of her and Hailey's brows. The incident generated a ton of reactions on Twitter and TikTok about Kylie and Hailey's mean girl conduct. Kylie, however, refuted the claims that Selena was the target of her writings.

There’s more to what happened

The words "This was an accident?????" were written over Jenner's eyebrows in a selfie that she posted. Bieber, who was also bringing her brows up close to the camera and seemed to chuckle, was on a FaceTime chat in the screenshot. TikTokers instantly noticed this exchange and assumed it was a dig at Selena Gomez, who had previously been engaged to Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber’s husband.

Are the trio at odds?

The real query is probably: Is Selena Gomez in a feud with Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber? TikTok users and other internet observers were perplexed after Jenner's eyebrow tweet because it seemed to shade Gomez out of thin air.

Gomez replied in writing to Jenner, "Agreed @kyliejenner. It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!" The quarrel should have theoretically ended at her comment, but things only got worse from there. Fans started searching through mounds of evidence of Bieber and Jenner acting in ways they perceived as "mean girl behavior" against Gomez and other celebrities after they were on TikTokers' radars.
