Australia's Princess pays tribute to its Queen: Kylie Minogue remembers Olivia Newton-John
SANTA YNEZ, CALIFORNIA: Famous Australian singer and songwriter Kylie Minogue took to Instagram to express her sorrow over Olivia Newton John's death. Olivia's death was confirmed by her husband, John Easterling on Olivia’s official Facebook page where he wrote, “Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends.”
Kylie remembered the four-time grammy winning singer as her inspiration from a young age. The 'Neighbours' star also added an elegant picture of the duo, which was taken in 1988 after the release of Kylie's massive hit album, 'Loco Motion.'

Her post carried a black and white picture of the two stars standing side by side at the Royal Bicentennial Concert in Australia. It read, "Since I was ten years old, I have loved and looked up to Olivia Newton-John. And, I always will. (Just like this picture @nfsaonline) She was, and always will be, an inspiration to me in so many, many ways. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. x ONJ4EVER @therealonj"
According to The Daily Mail, the singer has always been inspired by Olivia throughout her career. During her appearance in the BBC's Reel Stories in 2018, the star stated, "That's who I wanted to be," pointing at Olivia while watching an archival interview of the pair. Kylie had a loyal relationship with Olivia and the duo has wished each other even during their birthdays.'The locomotion' star has also composed many other songs including 'Magic', 'Especially For You', 'Cant get you out of my head' etc.
Olivia passed away after a 30-year battle with breast cancer. The actress is now survived by her husband John Easterling, daughter Chloe Lattanzi, sister Sarah Newton-John, brother Toby Newton-John, and a few other close relatives.
