K-pop group NCT announce release of compilation album 'NCT 2020', excited fans say 'life's never been this good'

This time around, for 'NCT 2020', fans are hoping that the new NCT sub-unit, named WayV, will be included

The South Korean boy group NCT will soon be releasing a new record and excited fans are pumped up since the news dropped. NCT, a K-pop group unlike any other, follows the concept of unlimited members divided into various sub-units based in different cities worldwide. Currently, NCT consists of 21 members in a total of four sub-units.

The album, which will be titled 'NCT 2020', will release in mid-October this year, according to a report by AllKpop. The report also states that 'NCT 2020' will be a compilation album; the second compilation to be released by them after 2018's 'NCT 2018'. 'NCT 2018' consisted of hit songs such as 'Boss', 'Baby Don't Stop', 'Go', and 'Touch' performed by sub-units NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U and more. This time around, for 'NCT 2020', fans are hoping that the new NCT sub-unit, named WayV, will be included.

Reacting to the news, fans of the South Korean boy band took to Twitter to express their excitement. One fan, clearly super excited about the news, wrote, "Waking up to nct 2020 news yes life has never been this good," while another fan, hyped up by the impending release of 'NCT 2020', tweeted, "Let's make this happen girls, this is a blessing an amazing opportunity to show our and support for ALL THEM, not only one or two, I can't believe this is really happening, I mean...IT'S NCT 2020!!!!" Another NCT fan, talking about the unexpectedness of the news, said, "This NCT 2020 thing really making me shocked... dudeeee I just woke up and found out about this news then..." while another fan, expressing similar sentiments, wrote, "THE KPOP COMMUNITY NOT READY FOR NCT 2020, IM NOT EVEN READY AND IM A HARDCORE NCTZEN."

Hoping that the NCT sub-unit WayV is also part of 'NCT 2020', a fan tweeted, "Sm better put wayv in nct 2020 because i have no idea how they’d explain having ten, lucas, kun, and winwin but not yangyang, hendery, and xiaojun bc they’re still technically apart of nct since they never left ???" while another said, "If wayv's included in nct 2020, can nctzens and wayzennis unite? our fandom would be so powerful if we actually united."

The allkpop report also confirmed reports of a new NCT album saying, "It's true that NCT are preparing an album. We will make an official announcement once exact schedules are confirmed."

NCT first debuted with their unit NCT U in 2016 with the singles 'The 7th Sense' and 'Without You'. NCT U was followed by NCT 127 with an eponymous EP and, later, the NCT Dream with the single 'Chewing Gum'. NCT introduced WayV, their first overseas sub-unit based in China in 2019 with the EP 'The Vision' followed by 'Take Off' and 'Take Over the Moon' and finally, a full-length studio album titled 'Awaken the World'.
