Korean Music Awards 2021 list of nominations: BTS gets six nominations, including one with IU
Korean Music Awards 2021 is just around the corner and the nomination list has BTS ARMY excited as the Grammy-nominated South Korean group received a record number of nominations, six, in the award show commencing on January 28. Here is the list of nominations and more.
Korean Music Awards organized by Korea Popular Music Awards Selection Committee is hailed as the most critically acclaimed award show as it chooses the winners based on a panel of judges comprising of well-known music critics, radio show producers, cultural expert academics, and other professionals of the music industry. The award show started in 2004 highlighting the mainstream and underground music of Korea and celebrating the excellence of their cultural impact.
Amid all the categories of Korean Music Awards, the four major categories include 'Album of the Year', 'Song of the Year', 'Artist of the Year', and 'Rookie of the Year' along with 18 other genre-categories announcing a song-winner and an album winner. BTS has been nominated in three main categories along with Suga’s collaboration with K-pop soloist IU in ‘Eight’ receiving another nomination in the Best Pop Song category.

KMA is a 100% judge vote, I guess? It's not the ordinary award shows like MAMA, MMA, GDA, SMA and others that has a live voting. It's more like the Grammys. It's awarding not only kpop artists but also other genres of music. That's what I think. 😅
