The whodunnit mystery 'Knives Out' received much acclaim last year and was nominated for several accolades as well. Much to the excitement of fans, Rian Johnson announced that a sequel is in the making as well, leaving fans to speculate who will be cast in it. The burning question was whether Chris Evans will return for the sequel.

In an interview to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson said that this film would be a fresh start. "Think of it like another Hercule Poirot novel from Agatha Christie. So, whole new location, whole new cast. Does that cancel out all your questions? Not in my movie, but in life? I mean, he lives in Boston so, why not?"

Though he joked about it, it was made clear that Chris Evans wouldn't be donning one of his bright sweaters for the film.

Evans has always maintained his overwhelming respect for the director. "When we first went and grabbed dinner together, it was the first time we actually got to sit down and talk about the project and, you know, those are the times where you’re just kind of nervous about how… that kind of sets the trajectory of the job,” Evans explained. “It was just so exciting to kind of hear your take on things and just hear the way you think and I’d seen all your work and it was just kind of one of those things where I left the lunch with those little butterflies... just kind of excited and grateful that I got to be in this project."

So though the two might not work on the 'Knives Out' sequel, they might work in something else. You never know.

'Knives Out' was a murder-mystery, that showed how a family gathering goes awry after the patriarch is found dead. A detective (Daniel Craig) decides to look into it.
