In the Disney+ series 'Snowdrop', Kim's character Yeo Jeong-min shares a women’s dormitory with protagonist Young-ro, played by Jisoo of K-pop group Blackpink. The series was produced by JTBC Studios and Drama House and plays on JTBC’s network in Korea. Meanwhile, it is billed as a Disney Plus original in the rest of the world. Kim's credits include two 2019 movies 'Memories' and 'Kyungmi’s World', and many known dramas including the JTBC series 'Human Luwak', 'Hellbound', 'The School Nurse Files', 'Yumi’s Cells', 'Hi Bye, Mama!' from tvN, and 'Into the Ring' (2020) on KBS. While Kim was born on March 16, 1992, Korean news outlets reported her age as 30 and 31 due to different methods of calculation.
'Snowdrop' is presented as a romantic melodrama set against the backdrop of the 1987 pro-democracy movement. The series has been faced controversy over its historical accuracy, choice of songs, as well as the depiction of North Koreans. According to Variety, sponsors pulled their support and the uproar initially had a negative impact on the shares of J Contentree and Blackpink agency YG Entertainment.
