Fans went crazy and Kim's look received mixed reactions on Twitter. A fan replied to Kim's post and wrote, "You were my favorite part of the night…old Hollywood glamour, and Pete was handsome/adorable." Another wrote, "This is a milestone in met gala history!!! However, one tweeted, "I don't understand why you didn't do something original? You are your own person, whether you like it or not. You should have been you. It actually could have been interesting. Marilyn was herself, and one of a kind. Totally inappropriate to copy her."

Kim what it means to be appreciated for your body by donning Monroe's outfit. Her fans attacked the trollers and stated that Kim is more iconic than Marilyn. "Srew the haters Kim.
