Kid Cudi single to drop this weekend, fans slam trolls who say collab won't do well because of Eminem
Kid Cudi's daughter Vada has just announced that her father is teaming up with Eminem for a new single, 'Moon Man & Slim Shady! Bringing back the Alter Egos', dropping on July 10.
In a video shared on Twitter on July 8 via Cudi's official account captioned "And now a word from Princess Vada the chosen…" Vada tells us, "I’m here to say that my daddy’s new single, 'The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady', is coming out on Friday. Check it out." The team-up would put two highly-acclaimed, award-winning artistes together, so naturally, some fans were excited following the announcement.
"WAIT WHAT!? ARE YOU SERIOUS!? CUDI AND EMINEM... I'M BOUTTA F***IN LOSE IT. PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE NOT JOKING AND THIS S**T IS REAL," tweeted one fan. "New Cudi This Friday Can’t Waitt," said another. "EMINEM AND KID CUDI THIS FRIDAY LETS F***ING GOOOO," shared one, and another said, "I AM DEAD!!!! This is what we want!!!!!!"
Fans also found themselves getting nostalgic, stating, "Moon Man & Slim Shady! Bringing back the Alter Egos," as well as, "That new Em & Cudi collab would get us some 2009-2013 goosebumps." And others are already predicting the song will hit number one on the charts, with one fan sharing, "If this doesn't go no.1 I'll be mad at all stans. We supposed to be the biggest rap fanbase."
Vada got a whole lot of love too. One fan tweeted, "VADA IS SO DAMN ADORABLE," another shared, "Love this way of announcing the song!! She looks just like you big bro!! Excited for the new song!!" and another said, "Best Promo Ever!! Can Vada announce all your music releases??"
Not all were on board with the collaboration, however, with several Cudi fans sharing they thought Eminem was a bad fit. "Kid Cudi and who now," asked one fan, "Eminem really comin in to ruin a new kid Cudi song," stated another. "First Cudi song I hated before even hearing," tweeted one fan, another said, "Cudder and Em? Just bc its Cudi I'll let it slide," and one user tweeted, "Can Eminem just go away already." Some fans thought the team-up was too late, sharing, "Kid Cudi and Eminem are dropping a new single on Friday, but it's not 2010," along with a meme that reads, "Disappointment?" while others thought this duo could not compare to Cudi's previous collaboration, tweeting, "Ain't no match for Kid Cudi and Travis Scott, their duo is perfect."
Many came to Eminem's defense, stating, "Why is everyone freaking out about Eminem being on a Kid Cudi song? Did we all just forget he’s one of the best feature artists in the game?????" Another said, "Him and cudi are both one of the best of all time, they good af bruh." One more said, "Come on maaaaaan. Em is one of the goats & Cudi is great. This will be amazing. I think we should feel lucky it’s happening." One fan shared, "Even if it does go to no.1, I can already imagine haters tryna say Cudi saved Em's career/ Em only has this no.1 due to him. IDK y but ill enjoy this a lot," while another stated, "People expecting the Em x Cudi song to be bad before it even drops is some weird s**t to me, why the hell you talking like that for? Mad dumb lmao."
