'Please let him talk': Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ much-awaited 'Live' debut slammed for 'fake banter'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The widely awaited premiere episode of 'Live with Kelly and Mark' featuring married couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, has received a variety of mixed reactions. The married pair was criticized by several spectators for their "fake banter" and boredom throughout the hour-long program.
Consuelos, 52 who has been chosen to replace Ryan Seacrest, 48, who left the show after seven seasons, revealed that the two had recently had an intimate walk in Central Park. Ripa, who engaged in some major PDA with her husband throughout the show, was even criticized for frequently disrupting him.

The show 'Live With Kelly and Ryan' has been renamed to 'Live With Kelly and Mark' and millions of viewers tuned in on Monday morning to see how the real-life couple would get along on camera. Over the years, Consuelos has frequently stepped in to co-host with Ripa, but some Twitter users claimed that he appeared uneasy when making his official debut.
What did the pair do on the show?
Consuelos started out by saying, "We used to run through the park, but now we're.." However, Ripa cut him off and said, "We used to chase each other." "We saw some people who we used to see run and they were now also walking," the 'Riverdale' alum added. Ripa then interrupted once more, stating, "It's so funny how, I don't know if it's age or our knees, whatever it is, time."

A Twitter user slammed Ripa for frequently interrupting Consuelos during the broadcast. "I am so happy to see Mark & Kelly this morning … But Kelly could [you] PLEASE LET HIM TALK!!!" an outraged said. "OMG! Let him start and finish a story his way … It’s the only way it’s going work," another viewer wrote.
"Bruuuutal!" claimed another. "Last time i watch. I can go to the mall and watch teenagers kiss LESS!!! THE BEGINNING OF THE END," one said. Ripa joined the chat show in 2001 with Regis Philbin. In 2012, she co-hosted the show with Michael Strahan and then Ryan Seacrest took his place. Over the years, Consuelos frequently substituted as a guest host, as per Page Six. One user said, "That show died with Regis."
