Keanu Reeves' pals 'hoped he would propose’ as he threw sweet 50th birthday party for GF Alexandra Grant
SONOMA, CALIFORNIA: Keanu Reeves left no stone unturned to make his girlfriend Alexandra Grant feel special on her 50th birthday on April 4, sources have spilled. It has been said that ‘The Matrix Resurrections' star hosted a great event in Sonoma for his lady love’s special day, which included “all of their friends and family,” making them believe that it would turn into their proposal day.
“He invited all of their friends and family and was really excited to celebrate with her. They've both had a crazy few weeks, and this was amazing. Friends hoped he would propose at the party,” an insider told RadarOnline.com.

‘They are very similar’
As per reports, the pair were together for years before revealing their relationship publicly in 2019. Another insider shared, “Keanu's relationship with Alexandra is solid, and they mutually respect and admire each other. They are very similar in a lot of ways and enjoy the same things. He lived a pretty solitary life for many years, so friends are happy that he has found companionship.”
Also, according to a third tipster, “They are totally committed. Pals could see them getting married. They are true partners.” This comes as earlier this year, a source revealed that Reeves “has the ring and the proposal speech all ready, but just can't follow through. He also worries about jinxing something that's already so perfect.”
Another source added in January, “It's been so much fun hanging out because she's so cool and intellectual. She constantly astounds him.”
‘We were connected’
When inquired about his last special moment during an interview with People in late March, Reeves answered, “A couple of days ago with my honey. We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”
The ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ star opened up more and shared some personal details about himself, like the last time he danced. He told the publication, “At a friend's wedding about eight months ago. Sometimes I'm the first out there and sometimes I need coaxing. Sometimes it's the song and sometimes it's the person. I just go with the feeling.”
Reeves then went on to mention the last time he watched the sunrise. He added, “I was recently traveling in Japan and had some wonderful jet lag and got to see the sun rising in Kyoto. Those are always cool. You have to stop, like, ‘Aren't we glad to be here?’”
‘She was so cool’
Previously, actress Jennifer Tilly gushed about the couple. In February 2020, she said, as reported by Page Six, “I remember a couple of years ago, about a year and a half ago, [Grant] said, ‘Keanu Reeves is my boyfriend’ and I’m like, ‘Wait. What? What? What? She was so cool I thought she was a lesbian.”
“It’s really astonishing to me how in the last five months, all of a sudden, she goes to an event with him and everybody goes insane, like, ‘It’s his new girlfriend,’ because she had gone to a lot of events with him. It’s just suddenly surfaced that he’s been dating her for several years,” Tilly added.
