KBS Song Festival 'Gayo Daechukje' 2020: Arin and Soobin’s ‘Dolphin’ most viewed video, BTS wins three awards
The much-coveted music festival, KBS Gayo Daechukje Connect 2020 came with brilliant performances of A-lister K-pop stars including Grammy-nominated BTS, Twice, NCT, Stray Kids, Tomorrow x Together (TXT), Itzy, Oh My Girl, and more. TXT’s Soobin and Oh My Girl’s Arin, the duo who were the backstage hosts for KBS Gayo 2020 also bagged the acclaim of most-viewed KBS Video of 2020 with their spectacular YouTube ‘Dolphin’ dance performance video which garnered 20 million eyeballs in a year.
In a KBS K-pop year review of 2020, the fans voted for their favorite K-pop stars in a few categories. YG Entertainment’s new group ‘Treasure’ got the Best New Group title with 35.5% popular votes while YG Entertainment’s girl group Blackpink got the Best Girl group crown with a majority vote of 29%; BTS snagged three titles including Best Male Group of the Year, Artist of the Year and the Best Song of the Year with Grammy-nominated ‘Dynamite’.
K-pop fans worldwide are smitten by Arin and Soobin’s much-deserved acclaim as they celebrate the victory on social media. Arin has also put on a legendary performance of Apink’s ‘I Don’t Know’ with Shuhua of (G)-Idle, Itzy’s Yuna, and Izone’s Wonyoung. Proud fans took it to Twitter to show appreciation for the members. A fan wrote, “#1 most viewed video on KBS is dolphin by arin and soobin. GADAMNNNNNNNN.” Another said, “Yaya SOOBIN ARIN world domination.” A fan shared a clip of Arin’s Oh My Girl group performance of 2020 stating, “#arin always slayed.”
A fan asked, “are they the only mc in music bank who got 20 million views for their performance?” to which a user replied affirmatively. Another fan complained that 2020 KBS Stage will not have any Soobin x Arin performance. “i'm so annoyed that there is no soobin × arin stage”, a user wrote.

Soobin of TXT took it to Twitter to show his love for fans. He shared a series of pictures from today’s KBS Gayo look and wrote, “It’s Soobin! Today, we showed you the ‘Hug’ performance, was it okay? I was so happy and amazed to perform on stage and to become the MC at Song Festival (KBS Gayo Daechukjae)”.
