KBS Song Festival 'Gayo Daechukje' 2020: Date, time, how to live stream and lineup featuring BTS, NCT and TWICE
The KBS Song festival titled KBS ‘Gayo Daechukje’ 2020 is set to take place on December 18 and the first lineup includes a number of major South Korean pop groups including Grammy-nominated BTS, the 4th generation K-Pop superstars NCT, TWICE, Seventeen and more.
The KBS Song Festival aka KBS Gayo Daechukje is an annual South Korean music show hosted by the national Korean Broadcasting System. Earlier, the show format included an award ceremony which was discontinued from 2006 but the channel made an exception in 2013. This year, KBS announced that the music festival will take place without any live audience to maintain safety protocols amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The ‘CONNECT: 2020’ ceremony will be hosted by K-pop group ASTRO’s Cha EunWoo, TVXQ's Yunho and actress Shin YeEun.
Though the grand music festival will miss the charm of a live audience, taking a look at only the first lineup confirms that the spirit of the music festival is as high as any other year. Along with stunning groups, the first lineup reveals a shared stage performance of GOT7’s Jackson Wang and Psy’s P Nation rapper Jessi plus JY Park and Sunmi’s collaboration. Veteran singer Kim Yeon-ja is also a part of the first lineup along with SHINee’s Taemin and more.

Pre-buzz
After the first lineup was announced, fans took to Twitter to share their excitement and also wonder if some of their faves will be included later in the lineup. A user shared a snippet of 2018’s KBS Song Festival’s chaotic BTS clip with the caption, “ooh @BTS_twt are in the lineup for KBS Gayo Daechukjae. Booked and busy as usual. (Also kim yeonja is performing as well, which reminds me of this famous amor fati encore stage).”
Another said, “Jackson and Jessie collaboration! I also noticed that #GOT7 is not included in the lineup @MyloveKBS???! So the other groups are going to have their mini-concert on KBS gayo again? This whole comeback the lack of promo and this treatment even the KBS thing, reminds me of 2017.” An ATEEZ fan posted, “Kbs gayo Festival already announced first lineup. I hope ateez will be there too. But if they didn't, it's alright. We have immortal songs this Saturday.”
