Kanye West sued for stealing tech, asks opposing lawyer if he's 'f**king stupid'
Amid news of Kanye West's romantic birthday getaway with new lady Irina Shayk, TMZ reveals that the rapper is being sued by a video and e-commerce company. But that is not all. The 'Famous' rapper reportedly tried to sabotage a court deposition for the same case by calling a lawyer "f**king stupid" and storming out during the virtual hearing. News of this comes as Kanye is believed to be going through his divorce from wife of seven years, Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
According to sealed court documents obtained by AllHipHop.com, Kanye was brought into court through an emergency motion filed by the company MyChannel Inc. Through the deposition, Kanye was reportedly wearing a "full-face hood and head covering adorned with Jesus Christ’s image which obscured his face and muffled his voice." Kanye was seen wearing the same balaclava with photos of Chris getting devoured by a whale with angel wings on Tuesday, June 14 while out in Los Angeles. The rapper refused to remove the face covering despite the other legal team's protests. According to filings, he claimed they didn't have the right to see his face.

Why is Kanye being sued?
The 44-year-old rapper is being sued by the video and e-commerce company MyChannel Inc for $20million, on accusations of "stealing". The company claims Kanye stole their technology to promote his Sunday Service gigs without ever investing millions in the firm, as he had allegedly promised to. The company had filed a lawsuit in August 2020, alleging that they had been ripped off around six months of work on technology. The company had initially linked up with Kanye to help "maximize revenues for his Yeezy merchandise," reports TMZ. They had also allegedly invested seven million dollars from their end into a Yeezy project, but Kanye cut ties with them eventually and then proceeded to steal their tech for his then newly launched Sunday service, the lawsuit claims.
With a promise of $10 million, the company had even moved headquarters from Pennsylvania to California, before moving to Chicago. The promised investment from Kanye however never materialized, they claim. This is not the only lawsuit against the rapper. After actors were allegedly hired to sit in the audience of his first-ever opera 'Nebuchadnezzar' at the Hollywood Bowl in November 2019, Kanye was sued by the workers who worked on its production for either not receiving their paychecks at all or not receiving them in time in some cases. Two lawsuits, filed by two separate people, are expected to cost Kanye a payout as high as $30million, should he choose to fight.
Kanye calls lawyer 'f**king stupid'
In his recent virtual hearing, Kanye was accused of trying to "sabotage" the court's hearing after he showed up in the odd attire and also kept calling MyChannel Inc's attorney Michael Popok "boy" throughout the session. Kanye, while refusing to answer Popok's questions, also asked the attorney if he was "f***ing stupid." He reportedly refused to look at Popok and kept referring to his own "mental genius-ness" and playing on his cellphone.
The suing company complained how Kanye was disrupting the court's order and accused his team of lawyers of doing nothing about it. After just 10 minutes into the deposition, Kanye reportedly ended it by walking off.
One of MyChannel's lawyers, Ben J Meiselas, told AllHipHop.com: "West’s bad faith efforts to sabotage the deposition will be viewed by the Court as one of the most outrageous and inappropriate deposition performances it has observed as well." The lawyer is planning on bringing Kanye to court for a face-to-face deposition next month, where they expect to sanction him for $63,000.
