Kim Kardashian files to divorce Kanye West after 7-year marriage, Internet says ‘I could give a rat's patootie’
Kim Kardashian has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband of seven years Kanye West. Sources were quoted as saying that the divorce is amicable and that Kardashian has asked for joint legal and physical custody of their four kids.
According to TMZ, who broke the news, sources said that West and Kardashian are committed to co-parenting. It was also reported that there is a pre-nuptial agreement in place and that neither West nor Kardashian are contesting it. Instead, it is reported that the former couple has almost reached an understanding regarding a property settlement agreement.

The papers were filed by divorce attorney Laura Wasser who hasn't listed an official date of separation. Instead, the article noted that the date was to be determined. It must be noted that news of West and Kardashian's separation had surfaced much before Kardashian filed for divorce and fans had speculated that this phase of her life will be recorded in the final season of 'Keeping up with the Kardashians'.
Things got rocky between West and Kardashian in the latter part of 2020, after West launched his presidential campaign. In one instance, he even shared about a conversation that he had had with Kardashian about aborting their first child, and he did so in tears. Not much later, he also dissed members of the Jenner-Kardashian family and went as far as to called Kris Jenner "Kris Jong-un" on Twitter.

According to sources, the divorce proceedings never turned ugly. It has been said that things got rocky after West's outbursts, however, Kardashian did not consider separation as West was suffering through a serious bipolar episode. It has also been reported that the chief cause for separation is the differences in their lifestyle and politics, among others. The separation comes after the family took a vacation together to check if things could be repaired, and Kardashian's visit to Wyoming for a face-to-face with West.
Kim and Kanye's love story
Kardashian and West met in the early 2000s and he appeared on 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' in a 2010 episode when he visited Kourtney and Kim's DASH store in New York City. Kim had been dating Kris Humphries at the time. It was in 2012 that West professed his love for Kim with his soundtrack 'Cold', the couple gave birth to their first child North West in 2013 and tied the knot in a lavish wedding in 2014 in Italy. The two are parents to North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint.

One fan also referred to the interview of West in which he had exclaimed about not having a jacuzzi and wrote, "Kim Kardashian is divorcing Kanye West, and it’s all because they didn’t have a jacuzzi." Some wondered about the settlement considering West's net worth while many were also heartbroken.

Before West, Kardashian had been married to musician Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries. Her marriage with Humphries lasted 72 days before she filed for divorce.
