‘We don’t tolerate antisemitism’: Kanye West escorted out of Skechers HQ after rapper shows up uninvited
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rapper Kanye West showed up uninvited at Skechers headquarters in Manhattan Beach, LA after Adidas cut ties with him over his antisemitic remarks.
Skechers is owned and operated by a Jewish family. Robert Greenberg founded it in 1992, and his son Michael is currently the President. Skechers has collaborated with stars like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Camila Cabello, and even West's ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. West, 45, also known as Ye, went to their headquarters on Wednesday morning, October 26, to try and find a new home for his Yeezy shoes, but was immediately turned away, according to TMZ.

In a statement issued by Skechers, they said, "Kanye West – also referred to as Ye – arrived unannounced and without invitation at one of Skechers’ corporate offices in Los Angeles. Considering Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation. Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices."
During an interview with Piers Morgan, a few weeks back, West escalated his string of antisemitic threats. The 57-year-old British broadcaster asked West if he regretted writing a specific tweet in which he said he wanted to go "death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE." West told Morgan that he was "absolutely not" sorry for the message. Twitter swiftly removed Ye’s tweet for reportedly violating the platform’s policies. Morgan slammed West for his insensitivity saying, "Well, you should be."
Just this week, Adidas dropped West, as a partner, manufacturer, and distributor of the rapper’s Yeezy shoe brand. "Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech," the company said in a press release. Last year, Yeezy was valued at about $3M. West's harsh remarks towards Jews have caused his other professional partnerships to end. Balenciaga, GAP and even his lawyers have severed connections with him.
Prior to his attacks on Jewish people, West faced backlash for unveiling "White Lives Matter" apparel at Paris Fashion Week.
