Kanye West is having a 'mental breakdown', his friends claim as rapper is barely sleeping
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the midst of Kanye West's latest controversy over a 'White Lives Matter' sweatshirt and his antisemitic posts, sources close to the 45-year-old rapper say he was barely sleeping, an issue that reportedly led to his hospitalization in 2016. They claimed he was having a "psychiatric episode."
Page Six has quoted sources close to Kanye whom stated that the rapper’s odd behaviour started when he fired the publicist for his Paris fashion show, who scrapped his plans for the show and quickly put together a new show with the now infamous 'White Lives Matter' theme. According to insiders, he also planned his interview with Tucker Carlson against his team's advice. According to insiders, he has now fired consultants and advisers who had “resisted his ideas”, which were widely viewed as antisemitic or racist. In addition to this, he is also planning to hire a new political team. "He wants to focus on putting together a platform for a second presidential run in 2024," insiders stated as per Page Six.

According to reports, “Friends are at a loss to find someone who can get through to the superstar and convince him to seek professional help or temper his outlandish and self-destructive behavior.” He has even gotten into fights with longtime friends who have attempted to mollify him.
In 2016, West was hospitalised for mental health issues after he abruptly cancelled the remainder of his 'Saint Pablo' tour. According to TMZ, Dr Michael Farzam said his patient's name was "Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5'8", 175 lbs ... suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration." As per a police report, the doctor told cops he had placed Jones [Kanye] on a psychiatric hold and wanted him taken to UCLA Medical Center.
'You're hyper-paranoid about everything'
In the year 2019, Kanye disclosed that he has bipolar disorder. In an episode of 'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman', the rapper spoke to host Letterman about his struggle with bipolar disorder and what it’s like when he has an “episode.” He said, as quoted by Insider, "If you don't take medication every day to keep you at a certain state, you have a potential to ramp up and it can take you to a point where you can even end up in the hospital. And you start acting erratic, as TMZ would put it." He added, “You can become almost more adolescent in your expression or border into places. This is my specific experience that I've had over the past two years, because I've only been diagnosed for two years now.
Eloborating on his condition, he said, “When you're in this state, you're hyper-paranoid about everything. Everyone. This is my experience — some people have other experiences. Everyone now is an actor. Everything is a conspiracy. You see everything. You feel the government is putting chips in your head. You feel you're being recorded. You feel all of these things."
