'She's a billionaire': Kanye West fans baffled as rapper set to pay Kim Kardashian $200K per month in child support

Kim Kardashian, 42, and Kanye West, 45, who is now legally known as "Ye," finalized their divorce at last on Tuesday, November 29. However, they will have joint custody with “equal access” to their four children – North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3, as per court documents. While the children will remain with Kim, Ye will be paying $200K a month, in addition to half the costs for their education and security. And, this agreement on their divorce has left fans baffled.

Many flooded social media with statements like "Free Kanye" and "Kim's a billionaire." One of the users wrote, "She is a billionaire she dont need that FREE KANYE." Another said, "Kim K wanting child support is the type of greed they talk about in the bible, she a billionaire." While one more commented, "Damn kanye must 200k per month for child support smh in my honest opinion both Kim and Kanye are billionaires there is no way child support should be involve."

Wtf does Kanye need to give her that much a month when she has more money than him smh the law needs to be better you can’t justify why each child needs 50k a month that ain’t support that’s a better job than most Americans have." One more user said, "Kim Kardashian is a BILLIONAIRE. Skims is wildly successful and she has various streams of income. Anything other than a hard severing of her relationship with Balenciaga is unacceptable. Now if she cuts ties with them it will only be due to public pressure and not moral compass." A user questioned, "When are we as the public going to cancel Kim Kardashian? Don’t be naive all she cares about is money not the children! But sadly at the end of the day all her products will still sell out everytime because we’re all talk and won’t cancel her like she deserves. "

On the other hand, Kim's fans too came into the picture and one of them said, "Kim has 4 kids. She deserves every cent!" One more fan commented by saying, "he still has like over a 100 million left but kim deserves more for what she went thru honestly."

The divorce journey

One of Hollywood’s most iconic power couples, Kim and Ye’s official split comes after seven years of marriage. In February 2021, Kim filed for divorce from Ye. As stated by Insider, on October 9, 2021, Kim hosted 'SNL', making fun of the divorce in her monologue and appearing in a sketch alongside Pete Davidson, who she was dating at the time. She said Ye, who was in the audience during the monologue, is the "best rapper of all time." And added, "Not only that, he's the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing. His personality." Later, Ye criticized the jokes about his divorce on a November 4 episode of NORE & DJ EFN's ‘Drink Champs’ podcast. He said, “SNL making my wife say 'I divorced him' because they just wanted to get that bar off, and I ain't never even seen the papers, we're not even divorced. That ain't no joke to me. My kids want their parents to stay together. I want us to be together.”

Then, on December 10, 2021, Kim filed a request asking California judges to make her legally single. Insider reports that she initiated the move after Ye, who got reportedly dropped by six lawyers in his divorce proceedings with Kim, ignored her divorce filing, despite her filing all the way back in February 2021. However, the documents list December 26, 2020, as their separation date. Kim stated in court documents, as quoted by E! News, "I very much desire to be divorced. While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realization that there is no way to repair our marriage. Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realization that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not."
