Kanye West boasts he's a 'different type of freedom fighter' as Pier Morgan confronts him over racist rant
LONDON, UK: Piers Morgan confronted Kanye West on Wednesday, October 19, during an interview about the antisemitic tweet he had shared earlier this month. The 45-year-old rapper-turned-mogul admitted his faults on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored', but his apology seemed half-hearted as he said he was only "sorry for the people that I hurt" and that he is a "different type of freedom fighter."
West said "No, absolutely not" when Morgan asked if he was sorry for saying "death con 3 on Jewish people." Morgan asked, "Racism is racism, and you know that I think, don't you?" after urging him to apologize. Ye answered, "Yes, obviously, that's why I said it." In an effort to clarify, the host asked, "So, you said it knowing it's racist?," West replied, "Yes. I fought fire with fire. I'm not here to get hosed down. I'm a different type of freedom fighter"

Ye finally apologized and acknowledged that his outburst had caused "hurt and confusion" for those who were affected by it after Morgan grilled him for two hours. He said, "I will say I'm sorry for the people that I hurt with the 'death con'... I feel like I caused hurt and confusion."
Ye added, "I am sorry for the families of the people that had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through. And that I used my platform where you say, I hurt people, and I was hurt." Morgan was citing West's tweet from October 8 that read, "I'm a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE."
"The funny thing is I actually can't be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew," added West, pointing out that Jews are also black. "You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda." Reports claim that his social media accounts was locked for two days in response to the controversial tweet.
During the conversation, West accused Morgan of "being a Karen" and downplaying his trauma. He continued to poke fun and asked Morgan about his net worth, to which Morgan said, "Not as much as you sadly." Ye remarked, "Exactly, so take my advice maybe you'll get richer."
"Why don't you hear what my advice is and then work out if I'm wrong can we do that deal," Morgan finally persuaded West to listen to him out. After recognizing his fault, West apologized to the people he had hurt.

Morgan feels that West's apology revealed a great deal about him. He said, "That shows that you have got that ability to be self-aware, to know when you cross the line. I think someone like you with all your energy and creativity and your passion, you are going to say stuff, the way you talk constantly and in such an extraordinary manner, you are going to say stuff and you are going to trip up and say things the wrong way."
"I don't think there is anything wrong in when you do that, in doing what you did, and say 'sorry, I crossed a line, I apologize,'" Morgan added. "It's wrong to hold an apology hostage and I gotta let go of that and free myself of the trauma. To those families that I have hurt, I just want to give you a big hug," West said.
