Kang Daniel, one of the most popular K-pop soloists, is teaming up with pop singer-songwriter Anthony Russo and electronic producer Inverness for a new single ‘State of Wonder’ along with a music video releasing this January. 

The trio has been working together to create a groovy single that will merge the world of K-pop with global dance music. Previously, Kang Daniel worked with Russo on his latest title track 'Who U Are' and more on his August mini-album 'MAGENTA'. Anthony Russo previously worked for K-pop supergroups like EXO, NCT Dream, and The Boyz. He's best known for his hits 'Rewind' with G-Eazy and 'California', which earned him over 40 million streams alone. 

Kang Daniel had a spectacular 2020 in his solo music career. The 24-year-old vocalist who debuted with Wanna One launched his solo music path in 2019 and released his debut Extended Play ‘Colour On me’ which topped the Gaon Album Chart. Later, his color series EP continued with ‘Cyan’ and ‘Magenta’ which also topped the Korean Gaon Album Chart with the former's title track earning Kang his first top ten single in Korea.

According to reports, his EP sold 5,00,000 albums in a month setting a new record when released.

Kang Daniel has also dominated the award shows this year, winning two popularity award for Male Solo in both the categories including Korea and overseas at the 2020 Apan Music Awards. He also snagged the Best Performance award which was decided solely on popular voting. The ‘What Are You Up To’ crooner also bagged awards at Asia Artist Awards including Asia Celebrity Award-Singer and Best Musician Award-Male.

‘State of Wonder’ will drop on January 15 at 2 pm KST. 

Concept

The single will have a fusion of pop-rock and K-pop which will appeal to the global dance music scene. The groovy single will have energetic beats and Kang Daniel’s charming vocals to carry it through.
