BTS ARMY isn’t happy with the decision of BTS being snubbed out of the main Grammys ceremony for their category Best Pop/Duo performance after the Grammys released their schedule on Friday of the Grammy premiere ceremony which will be live-streamed worldwide from their official site. The premiere ceremony schedule revealed a number of categories in which awards will be given before the main televised ceremony.

Hosted by Jhene Aiko, the Grammy premiere will start at 3 pm ET. Musician Jimmy Jam will be presenting the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Why was BTS snubbed from the main Grammys 2021 categories?

While Grammys hasn’t spoken about why the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category isn’t part of the main ceremony, fans have shared screenshots of the category being included in the main ceremony in past years though last year, the category was presented in the pre-show as well. One reason pointed out by some fans is that the opening ceremony can be watched live from anywhere in the world through YouTube and BTS ARMY being the largest fandom will bring the views.

After the schedule of the premiere ceremony was announced, BTS ARMY took to Twitter to slam the Grammys for snubbing the category away from the main ceremony. A fan said, “the grammys real lucky bts aren’t petty cause if i were them id accept the trophy then host a celebration vlive for the rest of the night and watch my view count triple the actual televised ceremony!” Another said, “Not televising the most talked about and anticipated category? I think we all know why. And yes, it’s the most talked about, bc of bts. If it’s so unimportant why are all publications talking about?”

A fan outraged, “Why do they have to snub everything from us? The least they could have done is presented it in the main ceremony. The most talked about category of the day is being kept for the preview. SO DUMB!” Fans have also talked about ARMY bringing the numbers saying, “for anyone wondering, duo/group performance should be the important category 4 d show cause one of the nominees has the power to double or even triple the audience they're expecting. That's BTS and their fandom solely would be a bigger audience than the people who care about aoty!” Another predicted, “they're gonna announce bts' category first and put their performance last so armys stay for ratings... who's gonna tell @RecordingAcad that this fandom watches their shit illegally!” A similar tweet read, “It’s official they reasly use us for clout!”

A fan shared, "Rap, r&b and pop duo are not getting televised... Grammy are really racist and xenophobic and they're not even hiding it!" A fan slammed the Grammys saying "ok ok i say this every week but can bts PLEASE win their f*cking grammy i can’t stand this racist xenophobic institution anymore they only use them for clicks i just want it to be OVER!"

Preceding the 2021 GRAMMY Awards show, the 63rd GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony will take place Sunday, March 14, at 3 PM ET, and will be streamed live internationally via GRAMMY.com.
