Will ACE beat BTS's record? Band drops peppy music video for 'Favorite Boys', fans call it 'song of the year'

South Korean boy band ACE dropped a new track titled 'Favorite Boys'. The track, part of their upcoming album 'HJZM: The Butterfly Phantasy', caused quite a stir on social media platforms and has garnered more than 250,000 views in less than 24 hours. The full version of ACE's fourth mini-album '(HJZM): The Butterfly Phantasy' was released both on/offline on September 2 at 6 pm KST. The mini-album is set to contain a total of five all-new tracks. Fans of the boys-Jun, Donghun, Wow, Kim Byeongkwan and Chan couldn't stop praising the crew.

Fans of the K-pop group took to Twitter to discuss ACE's comeback single. A fan expressed their excitement saying, "KPOP STANS our fandom NEEDS your help, A.C.E.'s comeback is today and we're trying to get their first win after 3 years of debut. This talented boys came from performing in streets and practicing in the basement of a fish restaurant with no windows."

Another fan applauded ACE's journey by tweeting, "From Under Cover to Favorite Boys."

The single draws heavily from classical Asian folklore. The group's "Favorite Boys" music video features stunning visuals consisting modernized styles of traditional Korean hanbok, androgynous clothing and more. ACE's choreography in the retro house genre dance track is something to watch out for. 

Many called it their favorite track of the year so far with one fan saying, "Favourite boys is already on list of my fav songs this year, the power ace holds."

Fans also pointed out that the band has been trending worldwide at number two. One fan happily wrote, "Just want to remind you again. WE MADE A.C.E. TRENDING #2 WORLDWIDE #OurFavoriteBoysACE."

Fans also couldn't help themselves from appreciating the music video as one viewer tweeted, "The outfits make the dance looks dreamy and its so satisfying. imagine this outfit on stage"

Another proud fan tweeted: "I love everything about this comeback the song, the video, choreography, the visuals, everything is so perfect and beautiful~ I am so proud of you." 

ACE's comeback single 'Favorite Boys' has been released at a time when BTS, the biggest K-pop band in the world, secured the number one position on Billboard 200 with their latest single 'Dynamite'. In terms of views, BTS's 'Dynamite' broke the YouTube record for most viewed video in 24 hours. The video which was released on Friday, August 21, had crossed 113 million views within a day. Fans also didn't miss this fact and even compared the two boy bands with one user saying, "ACE are the only boy group other than BTS I pay any attention to, their music videos and dances are some of the best in all of kpop."

The boy group's last album, 'Under Cover: The Mad Squad', released the previous year didn't break into the US charts but now, seeing the traction 'Favorite Boys' has received with fans calling it the song of the year, ACE could end up ruling the charts internationally.
