Justin Bieber rang in the New Year by dropping the video for his new single 'Anyone'. Dialing into nostalgia for the old school days, the video features makeup and clothing styles from an earlier era. The pop star also channels major 'Rocky' vibes, from the moves inside the ring to the egg yolks during training.

The video also has Bieber looking younger and more innocent with a tattoo-less body, which needed some makeup magic to achieve. He had tweeted earlier: "No tats for the #AnyoneVideo". "‘Anyone’ is such a special, hopeful, anthemic song. It sets the tone for a brighter new year full of hope and possibility," the singer had said before his New Year's concert live stream on December 31, which included the new song.

The video stars Zoey Deutch on whom Bieber plants a big ol' smooch at the end of the song after he comes back to cinch a big win after being KO-ed in the ring. The song also has lyrics like "If you ever move on without me, I need to makes sure you know/ That you are the only one I'll ever love/ Yeah you, if it's not you, it's not anyone/ Looking back on my life, you're the only good I've ever done."

If you thought Hailey Bieber was jealous of the fictional love story, you couldn't be more wrong. "Also need to just say @zoeydeutch is a gigantic ray of sunshine and so incredibly talented. You are my queen!!!" she wrote in her Instagram stories featuring screen grabs of the fictional couple.

The video, directed by Colin Tilley, is domestic and has a lo-fi, grainy visual style -- suiting the current pandemic mood. The song was the first released in 2021 to reach #1 on US iTunes. “I can’t think of a better way to close out 2020 and kick-off 2021 than celebrating with my fans all over the world and sharing this new music with them,” Bieber had said about releasing the song to mark the new year.

Justin and Hailey Bieber rang in the new year together with the song and Justin Bieber's online New Year concert, dressing up in their formal wear to celebrate the arrival of 2021. Hailey shared a snap of herself in a black YSL minidress with her hubby in a suit with a backwards black baseball cap, with the caption, "Happy New Year."

Justin Bieber had also shared a similar couple shot but in far more low-key attire, with the caption: "Just a couple, with matching jackets, beanies (tuques) if ur Canadian and coffee ready to bring in the new year with our friends and family!! Hope to see u there it’s ur last chance www.justinbiebernye.com," to publicize the online live-streamed concert.

The concert which was held at the Beverly Hilton hotel was the singer's first live stage appearance since 2017. The concert reportedly elicited complaints from Bieber's former neighbors who called the hotel to complain when the rehearsal sound checks were underway. Bieber and his wife, Hailey, recently moved out of the neighborhood themselves. They put their Beverly Hills mansion on the market in October for $9 million, 19 months after buying a bigger place which is next door to Jeff Bezos’ compound.
