Late Juice WRLD's new song with The Weeknd called 'Smile' released this weekend on August 7, along with a brand new music video directed by T2oam that pays tribute to the dearly departed rapper whose real name Jarad Anthony Higgins. However, many fans are getting chills after realizing that the dead rapper had practically predicted his own death once you take a closer look at the lyrics on 'Smile'.

'Smile' is a first-time collaboration with the Canadian R&B sensation The Weeknd and talks about how the singer would do anything to make the object of their affections smile once again. "I'd do anything in my power to see you just smile /I want you to prosper and come proper / Even if that means I ain't by your side." Ever since the collaboration released, fans have been hailing it as a new masterpiece, even though diehard listeners would already be familiar with the track. Plenty of fans remarked that the track had previously surfaced online on Soundcloud and was known as an unreleased Juice track titled 'Sad' back then.

The Weeknd had previously teased the song on his social media, saying "XO + 999 Thursday night", with XO referring to The Weeknd and 999 alluding to Juice's favorite number, which he often referenced in his own songs. While he was still alive, Juice had also previously tweeted "Me and the Weeknd would make a diamond record." Now that the track 'Smile' is here, it's almost certain to go platinum at the very least, since the official music video already has over 3.5 million views and is still trending on YouTube.

The music video shows the artist David Garibaldi doing a live painting session, as finishes up two larger-than-life portraits of Juice and The Weeknd. Fans were noting how certain prescient lyrics cast Juice in a prophetic light, almost like he knew he was going to die soon. Besides the line "Even if that means I ain't by your side," Juice's first verse also contained the chilling lines "Devil on my shoulder tellin' me I'll die soon / I don't really want that to impact you / But I don't know, maybe I'm just paranoid / I just want the best for you..."

One fan noted, "The fact that he talks so much about overdosing or dying in this whole album..he knew how he will die. Don´t do drugs, people!" Other viewers also exclaimed, "Damn. He really knew he was about to leave this world soon.. 💔" and "Not the first song where he mentions his death but his verse here left me speechless! RIP." Another admirer said, "This just gave me chills like he always did in every music he released, RIP my boy Juice."

Juice had acknowledged his substance addiction and drug issues numerous times in previously released songs, so fans already knew that he was struggling to keep afloat as his chemical dependencies bogged him down. One heartbreaking song, 'Wishing Well', off his posthumous album released in July, 'Legends Never Die' contained the lines "Perky [Percocet] got me itching like an anthill / Drugs killing me softly, Lauryn Hill [a Fugees reference]." He had also explicitly stated, "If it wasn't for the pills, I wouldn't be here / But if I keep taking these pills, I won't be here / I just told y'all my secret / It's tearing me to pieces / I really think I need them / I stopped taking the drugs and now the drugs take me."

Jarad Anthony Higgins aka Juice WRLD's meteoric rise to fame in the hip-hop world was tragically cut short in December 2019 when the 21-year-old rapper died after an accidental overdose at Chicago's Midway International Airport. According to reports, since federal agents were planning to search the plane that Juice was on, the rapper attempted to hide an assortment of pills such as Percocet and other painkillers by swallowing them. He promptly suffered a seizure and died of cardiac arrest soon afterward. The official cause of death was due to oxycodone and codeine toxicity and investigators found an assortment of drug paraphernalia such as marijuana and codeine cough syrup bottles on the plane in the course of their search. The fact that the rapper was well aware that he was on a road to ruin and self-destruction certainly makes listening to his latest album painful for most fans, but his supporters still continue to pay tribute to the young star many months after he passed away.
