Joni Mitchell's musical journey
Born as Roberta Joan Anderson on November 7, 1943, the nine-time Grammy winner and inductee to the 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,' Joni is the daughter of a teacher and an airforce officer who had to relocate several times along with his family. According to TheFamousPeople, one of her teachers encouraged her to write poetry which was a precursor to her musical journey. In the 1960s, Joni was discovered by David Crosby of band ‘Crosby, Stills & Nash.’ He produced her debut album, ‘Song to a Seagull.’ A few months later, her second album, ‘Clouds,’ included her first hit ‘Both Sides Now’. The LP made it into the ‘Top 40’ in the US, selling over 500,000 copies, which won her first Grammy Award.
