‘The Voice’: Girl Named Tom’s 'ethereal vibe' makes fans call them ‘complete package’

The trio called Girl Named Tom on Season 21 of ‘The Voice’ has been one of the most consistent performers on the show and upped the ante when they landed on the stage to enthrall the audience during the semifinals. The latest episode that was aired on Monday, December 6 saw the trio mesmerizing the judges with a solo set and later a duet with the youngest contestant on the show, Hailey Mia.

The theme of Episode 23 was to pick a song from the '90s and give it their own rendition. For their solo set, the sibling trio decided to go with a song with a folksy vibe that surprisingly got thumbs up from the Internet. Girl Named Tom performed on Joni Mitchell's ‘River’ followed by their duet a while later on the track ‘Hold On’. Girl Named Tom faced a lot of flak in the past for their performances but for a change, the trio managed to impress the social media users as they claimed that the group should certainly earn a spot in the top three.

Girl Named Tom will be fighting to earn a seat in the top five for the finale as three contestants out of the current lot will be sent home regardless of the team they are on. Speaking of the band’s performance, John Legend said that he loved the song choice adding that they performed it beautifully. Kelly Clarkson, on the other hand, pointed out that the trio always works until the last minute which was always visible in their performance. She added that the Girl Named Tom was the “most special thing” she’s seen on the show.  The trio also got showered with praises for their duet with Mia. The next episode of the singing reality show will be aired on Tuesday, December 7.

‘Probably the most complete package’, claims Twitter

Social media users rushed to Twitter to discuss Girl Named Tom’s latest performance. “They are the feel good contestants of this season, there are better vocalists, but GNT are probably the most complete package. I'm particularly impressed by Joshua's voice!”, said one user as another posted, “Simply the best performance of the night, as usual. this was completely flawless.”

One user shared, “They are absolutely incredible, pure beautiful perfect voices and harmony. I could listen to them all night.”  Another added, “Whoa... #GirlNamedTom is just amazing. the "folky ethereal vibe" fits them perfectly.” The next one tweeted, “The girl in GNT is a good singer and has star potential, her brothers are just okay.” One user added, “GNT redeemed themselves in their duet for me”, as another concluded, “See if GNT sang songs like this and not folky singer/songwriter stuff they’d be way more entertaining.”
