'Frozen' star Jonathan Groff joins 'Matrix 4' alongside Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss
Jonathan Groff will be joining the cast of 'The Matrix 4' alongside Keanu Reeves, who will be playing the role of Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss, who will be playing the part of Trinity. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is said to play the lead in the movie.
Jada Pinkett Smith will also be seen in the movie as she would be reprising her role as Niobe. Fans of the movie will also get to witness two new faces joining the cast. This includes Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris. Harris is rumored to be playing the role of a villain in the movie, as reported by Collider.
The confirmation regarding the fourth Matrix movie was given by Warner Bros. in August. While there has been no hint about when the movie would be released, it has been confirmed that Lana Wachowski will be directing the movie.
Groff recently bagged some good acting gigs. With his role in Netflix's 'Mindhunter' and his voice-over for Olaf for the movie, 'Frozen', he has proven that he as an actor can take on different roles. However, no details about his possible role in the movie have been disclosed. Despite this, it would be interesting to see how this cast comes together for the movie.
'The Matrix' first came out in 1999 and became an instant hit. People were drawn towards the movie as they thought it was unlike any that was created at that time. Its popularity gave rise to two sequels, 'The Matrix: Reloaded' and 'The Matrix: Revolutions', both of them released in 2003.
All three movies were written, directed and produced by Lana along with her sister, Lilly. Even though there has been no confirmation on the exact date of the movie to be released, it is expected that the movie would come in 2022.
