CORNWALL, BRITAIN: Jon Walmsley just turned 67 on February 6. He is famously known for playing the role of Jason Walton on the 1972 series 'The Waltons'.

Walmsley met Lisa Harrison, his first wife, when he was recovering from mono. Harrison had a crush on Walmsley since before they met, as she had been a big fan of 'The Waltons'. Shortly after, she moved in with him and the couple decided to get married in 1979, after living together for three years. "She made me get down on my knees," Walmsley said, as per PEOPLE.

Jon Walmsley's family

Harrison and Walmsley were married for almost 30 years before divorcing in 2008. They had a daughter, Brighton Asher, who followed in her father's steps and started acting. She is well-known for starring in the movies 'Take Me with You', 'Harvest Season' (2016) and 'Shining Vale' (2022).

On August 20, 2022, Walmsley shared an old black-and-white photo of himself playing the guitar next to Ellen Corby, who played Esther Walton on 'The Waltons'. He emphasized how special Corby was to him. "As some of you may already know, when it comes to the cast of The Waltons, no one was more special to me than Ellen Corby, who played Grandma, Esther Walton. As I had no grandparents and Ellen had no grandchildren, we formed a deep bond. No one in my life has been more supportive, especially of my music, than Ellen. I love this photo, taken on location on 'Waltons Mountain'," Walmsley captioned the photo.

Jon Walmsley's second wife and a quiet life

Walmsley relocated from California to Cornwall, Britain, in October 2019 and has been living there since. The actor revealed that he isn't recognized as often in his new home, where he now lives with his second wife, Marion. The couple has been married since 2008. Speaking about his anonymity, the 'Winnie the Pooh' voice actor said, "I don't really get recognized as I changed my look a few years ago and now look quite different than on 'The Waltons'," as per Daily Mail

Walmsley claimed that he and his wife cherished the quiet city's coastal route, woods, sea, sheep, farms, wild horses, cows, and "good food." The artist highlighted how, as a people-watcher, not getting recognized didn't bother him as much as it once might have. He saw how people frequently behaved differently around famous people. Since then, the couple has been taking advantage of Cornwall's moors, coastal trails, old churches, and pubs. IMDb states that Walmsley retired from acting, but he seems to be happy now, away from the limelight.
